Fatip Chrome Grande - Screw: 4.36 MM width : 14.05mm length.

Included handle - fits of course
:iKon Bulldog - doesn't fit at all, slips on but won't thread. My go-to handle :(
BRW Bull Mastiff Deluxe - Fits. Starts loose, but tightens up sufficiently.
:Weber Classic (first version, matte finish) - doesn't fit. Will thread, but tightens too much near the end, won't thread all the way to the head
:Fat Handle Tech - doesn't fit, will thread but too tight, can't reach the head.
:New Thin Bar Handle - doesn't fit - same issue as the fat handle tech
:Merkur 1904 handle - doesn't fit - same issue as fat handle tech, but only gets within 3-4 mm of the head. Not willing to force it beyond that point in fear of damaging threads.

Sadly, not too many workable choices for my copy of the Fatip. I need to grab a Weber Bulldog, and see if it works. I really prefer the heavy knurling and grip of the Bulldog's. Bob's is awesome, but not quite as grippy as I like (RIP Bob).

I've got a few others I have't tried yet. I'll report back with more.

It looks like ordering Fatip's is a kind of a lottery.
"jamessapo" for example (Grande chrome) can't fit the Fat Handle Tech, my fits perfect.

Tony J: I've found with many of my 3-piece razors that the handles have play until the begin to and actually lock down the heads. So this is not unusual. So long as the barrel does lock the head when the fully threaded. I like the finish of the 91R with the Fatip--nice match. I've found Astra SPP blades work well in the Fatip. I won't yet venture into sharper blades with this razor and may never. The Fatip is sufficiently aggressive that for me I don't need a Med Prep or Feather blade--either might be too much for my skin. I agree with Win, nice shirt.

Win: It seems that standardization is not an integral part of Fatip's manufacturing. This is unfortunate for consumers. There really is no rationale for not standardizing their razors' lugs/threads.

Yes, everything is ok as long as shaving goes well. LOL. I like Astra SP's too and I have still under testing Astra SS. Too many nice razors and nice blades to test and unfortunately I can only shave once a day. I love real sharp blades because I have 3,5 years straight shaving behind and aggressive razor combined with sharp as hell blade gives best result and same kind of feeling like straights. On the other hand I'm a variety hunter and enjoying different kind of feelings. ...And that just reminds me to remember to try Muhle grande handle too tih fatip.

Guys, thanks for being so giving in helping one another, exchanging information, and posting findings. This is a super-informative and productive thread. Alex, thanks for posting/hosting this thread--well done, friend.

Tony J: I am too 'senior' to attempt steady-hand straight-razor shaving. I give you credit and admire you for doing it. I can see where aggressive OC razors appeal to you. I had read where aggressive open combs are closest to a straight razor--not exactly like one, but closest to it in a DE razor. I do love trying different blades. Thing is, I've probably tossed more blades than I've kept. I have Feathers, Persona Med Prep, Astra SPP, and Persona Med Labs--I've listed these in order my biased re each razors sharpness. Man, do I love wet shaving and all the gear that goes along with it? I'd say the answer is a resounding Yes!

My DE89 handles do not fit my Chrome Fatip Grande as it does with Win's. Fatip has some strange manufacturing practices. Is there any standardization among Fatip razors? I think not. GAM's Chrome Fatip would not accept a Tradere handle, yet Win has had a good fit from many handles. Obviously, the lugs/threads are completely different within the same model Fatip. I wonder if the folks who ordered parts for the defunct Yugo order parts for Fatip--not that far-fetched.

Revelation: I think I got a misfit-Fatip: my neighbor just got a Chrome Fatip Grande, on my recommend, and all my handles fit his razor. I am going to get another Fatip and offer this one to the Razor Gods, who reside on the other side of the Styx. Fatip, take 2, coming up. Let the love begin.

My copy of the FaTip is the Gold. I found my Parker 91R and it fits the Gold and my LC New. My Feather AS fits almost everything including FaTip Gold, Joris, New, Old type and 3 piece solid bars.

I think that we may have to have alot of members post their razor's handles and then we will determine if the majoirty of the razors that do fit. At this point we have too few members posting thier handels sizes. Like you said yours dont fit but your neighbors does which means its a razor defect or inaccurate manufacturing specs.

Alex - the Goliath specs you have are for the Goliath XL. The regular Goliath is a bit shorter and weighs less.

A few additions to the Fatip Piccolo:

    Weber Classic (original) does fit
    Feather AS D1 does fit
Gillette New Fat Handle does fit
Gillette Tech Fat Handle does fit

Special Note: my iKon Bulldog handle DOES fit my Piccolo (I see where someone else's did not)

I spent some time last night comparing my Chrome Fatip Grande with my neighbor's, he got the same model razor. It does appear that someone at Fatip or the retailer packaged this razor with the incorrect head top. The lug on my Chrome does have a narrower lug than my neighbor's. Perhaps this is a Polished Nickel head on a Chrome model base, as it appears Fatip's Polished Nickel razor takes a different handle size than the Chrome--ugh! It may have been that someone simply made a mistake during final assembly. So it goes. My neighbor called me this morning and raved about his first Fatip shave. I gave him a couple packs of Astra SPP blades to try and he feels that the Astras are sufficiently sharp for him. Here's an aside for you, I thought this was funny, he put a note near the razor addressed to his wife, "Don't even think about it!" I'll give my Fatip update when I get my new one next week.

    Parker 91R handle
Just took receipt of a Parker 91R and tried the handle on my Fatip, Gillette Tech, and DE89. The handle fit all three razors.

    Improper fit on my Fatip
However, even though the handle locked up on my Fatip, it had a lot of play in the threads on the way to locking up and when tightened against the head, it had a less than firm feel as it locked up--it actually lacked that firm thread-to-barrel feel. I'm sure the handle will fit a proper Chrome Fatip Grande, as others have found, but on my WTF Fatip, lock-up was not true--the lock-up felt mismatched. I'll wait for the other Chrome Fatip Grande I've order to come and try the Parker 91R barrel on it. There's no reason to post photos since Win and Tony have posted exceptional images of their Parker handles on their Fatips. May I share their Fatip-Parker joy in the near future. The 91R barrel is decent for about $28 U.S.

    Revised for tomorrow's shave
Too excited to wait: I placed two wraps of Teflon tape around the Fatip's lug and threaded the 91R; it fits good and I'll use it tomorrow--I miss shaving with the Fatip that much. The razor weighs 2.8 ounces (80 grams).
