    Default $7.50 worth of fun

I came across an Esterbrook at an "antique" mall. Marked $15, but as I was about to pay the lady said, "Oh, you can have it for half price." Never argue with a lady. Got it home, the nib was bent beyond repair, put on an Osmiroid "Italic Medium Straight", it sucked up ink, AND does not leak.

Gotta love the way an Osmiroid italic nib threads right into an old Estie! One of life's hidden treasures.

A couple of modern pens this time around:

Monteverde Invincia Stylus, stealth black, with 1.1mm black titanium coated stainless stub
Sheaffer 100, matte blue with nickel trim, fine stainless nib

Also in July: Parker Premier, sterling silver cisele, 18k fine nib

Chiming in on Pendleton Brown's work, I have a Visconti Art Nouveau (black with sterling silver spider and web overlay) that Pendleton ground to a fine cursive italic that has become one of my favorites. Pendleton also did some flow adjustments for me on my grandfather's Parker 75. Additionally, my girlfriend has a Visconti Van Gogh Maxi (Starry Night) that he ground to a nice crisp stub. All this work was done in person at last year's Atlanta pen show. Pendleton's work was fantastic and we had the pleasure of meeting up with him one evening after the show at a local BBQ joint for dinner. A good time was had by all!

Order just arrived from the Goulets.
I am now convinced that they are using a private courier plane to send stuff to Australia, it is the only answer to the speed!!

I have a bundle from the GPC scheduled for delivery today! There is an TWSBI 540 EF nib and a mess of Rhodia tablets and notebooks.

Had been eyeing off the Logo and Al-Star for some time now, and decided to finally order them.
Tried the 1.5 on the Al-Star but it makes my script too large, maybe for special occasions but too big for everyday use.

Picked up the Kaweco on impulse with a couple of packs of cartridges after browsing the close out section, it is a pretty good pen.

Noticed that the Goulet's now have a Monteverde mini ink cartridge converter which fits in a lot of pens that take short international cartridges, anyone know if it would fit in the Kaweco ICE sport?

I have had my Kaweco eyedropper filled since I got it, a month or two ago. It has performed great, and hold a good amount of ink.

Finally got myself a black Pelikan 400NN with box and papers. I've been looking for over 5 years for a good deal on this scarcer model. I was able to take advantage of the Euro-Dollar exchange rate on this one from Germany.

It's hasn't been used much and sports a semi-flex oblique medium, just what I like! It traveled with blue ink in it.

Good show Doug. Now give us an example of how it writes.
