Default It seems I need more EDC pens or a slap in the face or both.

I'm looking in my pen case and this is what I see.

(I'm still working on learning about taking pictures nicely)

As I gear up to go back to work in a week, I can't decide what to use as for my EDC pens.
I fear leaving any of them at work because I work in a common room with 6 other guys and there is a lot of foot traffic in that office even after hours.

So, I'm going to take them home with me at the end of the day just to ease my paranoia.
I have a delightful 4 pen leather case that I'm planning on using.

    Now here's the trouble.

    What to put in it?

In the picture above there is my Montblanc pens on the top part of the case.
On the bottom is a few Edison pens, a Cross, a Parker 51 Special, Parker 75 set that was my Dad's.
(never mind that first Parker, I'm not keeping it)

Should I just take what I have or should I look for a specific pen that would be best for my desk??

If I had to choose just one, it would be the 51 special for sure.

    Maybe I'm over thinking this?
Maybe I have too much time on my hands?
Maybe I just will never be satisfied?
If you see me posting in the Acquisition thread, then you know the answer I went with.

    I got ya covered, Marc.

... well, not the "more EDC pens" part.

No sense leaving a valuable pen out where it can grow legs. IIRC you already commented in the Kaweco Sport thread about how that'd make a nice EDC pen, and I'll add that either a 79g or a Preppy would do well, and eyedroppered they hold a lot of ink ... enough that you could probably just take it home on the weekend for a top-up (or have your ink supply at work and not worry.)
Be there or be square. Only I can do both!

My feeling about fountain pens, even expensive ones, is there's no point in having them if you're not going to use them. Personally, I do as much (or more) writing at work as I do at home, so I need pens with me. If you have a nice four-pen carrying case, then take four pens with you -- any of them -- and bring them home at the end of the day. That's what I do. I'm not worried about anyone in my office removing a pen from my desk during the day -- no one I work with would -- but I don't leave them at work at night because 1) There's a cleaning crew at night, and they might accidentally throw a pen away or break it during cleaning, and 2) I want to be able to use them at home.

I don't know if that helps, but that's what I do.

I would put all the MBs in my pockets and carry them with me all the time.

I have a 78G and a Preppy I leave at work. I use and carry all of my other (i.e. "good")pens, but they only reside in my hand or my shirt pocket.

Nice pen chest Marc. I just carry one nice pen to work each day and back home again. I keep a stash of misc. fountain pens and ink samples in my desk at work for emergencies.

Today's pen- Pelikan M405 and my work stash.

I suppose deep down I've always known the answer to be "use what you've got" but part of me just wants to try more pens.
Gah, why does this have to be this way?

Ok, after I pick up a Kaweco (I almost forgot!) I'll be satisfied and run with that.

I knew you guys would choose the "slap me in the face" option.

I would do the same for you (twice).

P.s. If anyone does hop on a plane to slap me in person, we'll go for finn pancakes afterwards.
They always make me feel better

Very nice pens showing up in this thread! I am about done with my cigar box pen case, I need a nice one like you guys have!

You will not be disappointed with the Kaweco, I am glad I ordered a new one to give it a second chance. Eyedroppered with Liberty's Elysium, it has been my go to all week with my new 205.

Can I have some angst? Just a little angst? (Please, let me go back and fight the peril? No ... it's too perilous!)

Marc.... Don't let Ian harass youse. To us Old Minnesotans Thunder Bay was always a great time.

Compared to BC.... Moose Jaw was a preferred destination !!!!
