I have Barbara Streisand tickets at the Barclay center in BKLYN on 10/13! I don't think my wife will go for the B&B meet up as the pre show dinner.

You can do both. Just leave her to do shopping, and surreptitiously remove the credit cards from her purse. Win. Win.

Ahhh, you must channel your inner Machiavellian- insist that she spend the day at the spa in the Peninsula hotel, while you patiently await her return( at the Saint Andrews Hic.)- rejuvenated and refreshed. both of you eager to spent the evening with Mmes. Streisand. Win-Win.

I'm in. Where do I drop the wife off when we get to town? I just have to let her know when we're going to the pub so she can get a pint too.

You guys who are concerned about sitting next to Inky. I sat next to him once.... Once. ;)

I think the pub was the first stop, but I might be wrong.

I am tentative depending on my schoolwork load...probably have a final that following week. Any one familiar with Cambridge Chemists (http://www.pharmacyny.com/default.aspx)? They seem to have a good selection as well.

What's the itinerary? Why not *ahem* co-opt (suborn has such evil, machiavellian connotations) into becoming a wet shaver too?

Did you get all the ink off your shirt?

Oooh I'm looooong overdue for a trip into the City - only 2 hours +/- and would be glad to offer a ride for anyone from Northeast PA or even Lehigh Valley area etc

...and if anyone needs help with hotel rooms I can see if I can pull a few strings. I generally prefer to stay Lower East Side myself (must be all that tattoo ink in my blood) but I have several hotels in midtown that may work out a deal for us too.

I will put out a few calls in the next few days and see what kind of rates I can come up with...

Even if you have booked your hotels, if I can come up with a better deal I doubt any property is not within their standard cancellation period - unless you prepaid for a very low rate already.
If you aren't grateful for what you've got, nothing that may be coming down the pike will likely do the trick for you.

I might be lucky and make it to the Big Apple on the 12th. My agenda will finalize the next few days and will be able to let you know 100% then.
It nice to be important, but more important to be nice.

I feel that Art Browns will be a very costly stop.

I hope not, for me anyways. I'm hoping to spend very little while I'm down there & just figure out what all they have available. It'll give me a reason to come down again.

I said 'hope'. I joined the fall sabbatical to give me a reason to not buy stuff from the pharmacy. I just need some self control to not buy pens, ink, good paper or anything like that from art browns.

I am not much of a pen guy, do they have mechanical pencils? I have a Pentel Sharp Kerry that I like very much, but he needs a friend I think.

Although, I do lurk a lot in the Nib and find fountain pens interesting. I could probably be easily talked into an innexpensive starter fountain pen. I am sure you gents can help point me in the right direction when we get there.

And I am always looking for a nice, everyday notepad and/or stationery.
