Difference between Astra Green and Astra Blue?

Is there any quantifiable difference between Astra Green and Astra Blue? I have ordered the blues, but not the greens.

The Astra SP (green box) is one of the most popular blades here.

I couldn't find a review of the SS. Perhaps, after you've used them for a while, you could post one.

Purportedly, the Platinums are 'smoother', the 'Blues' a bit sharper. Each has their following and both blades are quite excellent and highly regarded.

in R41, the difference is felt. In milder merkur HD, I cannot distinguish the two.

Which do you like better in the R41?

The Green Astra SP's tug and pull my face, don't like them. The Blue Stainless Steel's are sharp and smooth on my face. YMMV

I just compared the two blades, among other Russian blades at this site, if you are interested. I believe the SPs are a superior blade to the SS. I agree that the SPs are smoother, but I am not of the opinion that the SSs are sharper - they're about the same.

Also, the specific razor you use these blades in can make a difference.

My findings are on par with the rest. Greens are smoother and more popular, Blue's are sharper.

I like Blue's more.

I find them both great blades...I have this small holder in my shave drawer with a few of everything (Feather, Derby, Astra Blue & Green). For the Slant Bar I go for the Feather, for everything else my first choice is the Astra Blue, then Green. What razor you use does seem to make a difference.

I've used both and can't tell the difference. Both are sharp and give me good shaves. Maybe my face isn't too particular
