Activity Stream

The new Activity Stream button is interesting. Kind of like new posts, but a little different. Is this new, or was it just located somewhere else?

With a forum as large and busy as ours, I think the "New posts" link is the best way to track activity.

I agree, New Posts is how I usually browse the site. When I look that the Actifity Stream, what it makes me think of is that someone was trying to make the theads appear like you might see a facebook or twitter feed. Maybe that view is more familiar to someone new who started with those types of social media sites. I like the "old school" better, go figure.

I panicked when Activity Stream came up as instead of New Posts.
I eventually calmed down when I found the New Posts link.

It turned out to be a delightful evening in the end.

The activity stream function can also be found on every member's homepage. You can now track, more easily, where someone has been posting. Also new, you can see each member's subscribed threads for a certain period of time and also see where your friends have been posting.

I've been going back and forth between New Posts and Activity Stream. I probably use new posts most, but Activity stream seems to be more helpful if I am looking for updates over a shorter period of time, like a few minutes.

Looks like the activity stream on my profile page follows friends' activity too. Me likey! Me also need more friends!!

Just added some of the straight forum regulars to my list. Up to now the friends list didnt seem to be of much use, but now I can see what all the trouble makers are up to at a glance. I'm stoked.
