Default Don't cave to your AD in August

During August I'm not caving in to my AD. No shaving related purchases during August. I've been spending way to much recently on shave related purchases I want to see how much money I will save.
One simple rule: no shave related purchases in August. Is anyone with me? With all the AD round here I doubt it but thought I would ask and share.
    Whose in?

That's my intention the beginning of every month. So far this year I'm 1 for 7.

Easy for a minimalist. I may not have to make a shaving related purchase for the rest of the year. Woo Hoo!

Hmmmmm..... I will have to think about this sabbatical. I have a Semogue 1800 already shipped and just picked up a couple KMF creams, a B&B member is PIFfing me some Tabac. I think I have enough soaps, creams, blades, AS, ASB, etc. to last me 2-3 years. So, logistically I should be fine. Right? But, I don't know if I can wait on ordering the Whipped Dog Silvertip I have been dreaming about. What if I finally find my birth year/quarter razor? Suppose I find a "must try" soap on special? What would a fellow do if the right item goes unclaimed on B/S/T?

Nope, I'm not committing to the challenge. Good luck to the more restrained!

Haha thats some awesome self doubt. I think PIFs are ok and trades as there not purchasing. You'll just have to find innovative ways to pay for things on the B/S/T. You could invite them round for dinner or paint them a nice picture haha.

Ha! "The Summer of Gentlemanly Restraint" has now shrunk to "The August of Gentlemanly Restraint". Maybe that is more manageable...best to begin with baby steps...OK, I'm in! I'll take it "one month at a time".

You bet, I'm in. I was just going to write a post begging the shaving stuff makers to not be greedy and give us a month off. It feels good to know I'm not alone.

I have more razors than I do whiskers.

The SoGR will never succumb to shrinkage! Good luck gents. The journey upon which you are about to embark will prove to be too much for some of you . . . especially if you let guys like BigBull, Nova316, and prsman23 in here.

I'm in. Don't have a lot of choice since between buying kids clothes for school and getting my van fixed, I'm not gonna have the extra cash for it.

I just bought one of the last razors I've been jonesing for. I've got soaps and blades to last for many months. And A/S out the wazoo.

    I'm in.
