    Default Modification/spine work

It's just a GD. Took a little while grinding the spine square, but had to be done to do professional spine work. Scales are padauk with a white pine wedge. I'm not selling this, just wanted to show my work.

    Nice work Mack,
what did you use for grinding? Dremel or something a little more robust?

Love the shape of that blade. Reminds me of a medieval executioner's beheading axe!

You gonna shave with that? Looks kewl, but the spike toe and spike heel together are a bit much for me. I would be too noid to use it to best effect. Nicely done, though. You obviously spent a lot of time, care and attention on that project. I give it two thumbs up.

My first thought was the jimps look like it'd be a bit rough on your thumb. Then HOLY SMOKES!!!! look at the double spikes! Sir, you officially have more manliness than I do.

I used a high speed pencil grinder 56k rpm for the regrind. Used a dremel 300 for the design work.

I shaved with it a couple times so far. Honing progression of 400, 1k, 4k, 8k, 12k, stropped on red latigo, awesome shaver. Definitely going to repeat the design.

a nice walk in the woods helps me relax and relieves tension....

the fact i'm dragging a shovel and a body should be irrelevant...

Ancient Kauri wood, white pine backbone. I was lucky enough to have a friend in New Zealand that sent me some of the ancient kauri, it's supposedly wood that was buried by a flood 50,000 years ago preserved in peat moss.

Love Kauri, not an easy or cheap wood to get hold of over here.
