"I would like something to smoke, and some clothes. And a shave and a haircut." — Piper, Cosmic Computer
I've been putting my arko sticks in one of those plastic stick holders and just pulling off chuncks and pushing them in with my thumb. It works great but I'm concerned about warping or breaking the center plastic post that guides the plunger. Has anyone run into an issue like thatm?
That makes sense. And thanks for the link, that is the one I remembered reading years ago. I was thinking that the Arko shave stick would make a good travel kit companion due to its small size and light weight, but keeping it protected without getting some kind of container looks like a challenge.
I now see a good use for old deodorant "dial-up" containers. Once empty, dial them back and pack in a stick or two of Arko. Dial it up, rub on face, and you're set! Sounds good in theory, I guess. Can't dial it back down I suppose, and you really wouldn't want to accidentally swap it for deodorant (ha! Think of armpits lathering up during the day!). I think I'll give it a go next time I have an extra stick, and I'll save my next deodorant holder specially for it.
Me to wife (truth!): "Does she really need all these Barbie dolls? You only need two to have a conversation. Why so many?"
Wife, not skipping a beat: "It's kinda like your straight razors..."
Another shave with Arko today followed up with Alt-Innsbruck. I soaked my stick in water to help soften the soap when I spread it on my face. Great shave, but the soap didn't soften enough to continue soaking the stick. Still can't smell lemon. Love the Arko.

I've decided to extend my Arko and Astra August into September. Who's with me?
No Astra for me, Super Iridium Septober! I have no immediate plans to switch from Arko, so Arko it is!
I tried to squeeze one too many shaves out of the last Super Iridium, so I had to let my face heal up a bit! Loaded a new SI in the Slant this morning, lathered up with Arko and had my eighth shave this month. I splashed on some Captain's Choice I got the other day - SWMBO said I smell like Christmas!

Got my first Arko stick this past Monday, I'm now on day 2 of my Arko August. Better late than never. I ordered a shave stick tube frm WC Shaving to make dispensing and storage a lot easier. First impressions, great inexpensve soap, great latherability but think I like bowl lathering better thus far.

Still running strong with the Arko. First use of my new whipped dog silvertip today also, was great!

Single Ring, Gillette Thai Super Thin, and Arko. I'm leaning towards putting the Single Ring on BST but otherwise it was a good shave.

Thats what I get too, I might have to pick up some lemon pez to compare.
I am loving my Arko shaves, it is a beast in the bathroom. I think once I get through all of the soaps and creams I have aquired, I am just going to use Arko. So that should be sometime in the 24th century.
