    Default Yuma Razor

Well, I got this one from a PIF from KronaKruiser. It's actually quite nice looking, not super cheap like I had heard it would be and after cleaning it up it's real nice! Looks similar to a Merkur 1904. I've heard it's a replica of another razor? Anyways, look forward to using it, and will get some pictures! Thank you again Krona! By the way, the blade gap is unreal!

Enjoy it, the Yuma is a very decent razor for it's cost. I don't use mine much but like it when I do.

We'll have to agree to disagree about the looks of the Yuma.

I have read that the Yuma is a copy of the razor issued to German Luftwaffe pilots in WWII. You can search the forums for previous threads on it.

Not really. There is a lot of exposed blade, which makes people think it is going to be agressive. When you get to looking at it the curvature of the head causes it to actually have a small blade gap. It's really that gap that dictates the aggressiveness of the razor, not the amount of blade exposed.

It's not super aggressive but not a mild razor at all. Quality control aside (or lack thereof) it's not a bad razor. However, the feather lightness coupled with blade exposure amplifies the feedback of the shave. The handle is hollow making it like a mini-microphone when shaving. Also, due to the razor's lightness, you can not only hear the feedback, but feel it. The Yuma is an underrated oddball razor. It's not the prettiest but you can shave with it. Appropriately, it also works best great with Turkish blades.

I hope yours works well. Mine either had a big flaw, or a great feature, depending on how you look at it. The blade alignment was off so that one side was mild and one side was violent. No matter how I adjusted it, I couldn't get the blade centered. For me this was a flaw, but I guess some might like being able to get two different razors in one.

I tossed my Yuma in the trash after two passes.

Took me a minute, but I got it centered.
