Default a funny thing that ive noticed

im just sharing my experiance of why safety razors must be much better for your skin. ive been wet shaving pretty much since i joined B&B but my blade count got lower and lower so i had to revert to a mach 3 for a week. and i kept getting pimples and overall bad shaves but i went in to our woolworths supermarket and bought a pack of wilks to get me through a rip of at 12.50$ a pack of ten. and ever since my skin has been much better and i have no had pimples coming since. so i think thats what ill tell my mates when im on school camp again and they ask what the hell im doing with my DE or SE.

just had to share have any of you younger members had similar experiances?

Since I'm long past the major pimple breakout stage in my life I can't really compare but I would still get that one really nasty zit that would take forever to go away due to being caught by the triple blade "wonder razors" I can say that since I started DE shaving last Christmas eve I've not had any problems.
I would consider chalking it up to the improved prep routine but since I'm assuming you're still maintaining your prep it may be the carts just tear you up a bit more and allow for the dirt and oils to provide a fertile ground for zits.
The thing I found stunning in your post is that Woolworths is still a going concern down on your side of the world, they've been gone here in my neck of the US since about the time I was 19 or so (about 1980).
Yeesh 12.50 for a 10 pack of Wilkes,I can get those for 1.97 US at my local Wallmart, great in a Red Tip,Old Type or NEW BTW.

I switched to DE from Mach 3's when I was 19 or so and I had considerably less breakouts and red marks once I got my technique down. Straights work even better too.

I am way past the pimple stage too but my skin feels a lot smoother using a DE razor as compared to the multi blades.

$12.50 for a pack of Wilkinson Swords - they're $13.50 in our Woolworths and $16 in Shavers Shop.

I hope you realise that with $12 you can get a 100 pack of Astra SPs from Turkey, or 200 Supermax SS from India on Ebay.

You haven't said what soap you are using. I would always get fine pimples with two and three blade cartridges and from DE when using canned stuff they sell in Woolies.

The best budget Aussie stuff I've found are Windsor shave cream at $7 in some chemists (very slippery), Natio Shave cream and shave gel at $10 (both these are very slippery, but don't lather up), Windsor soap at $10. The ultra cheap Palmolive shave stick, Palmolive cream, Faulding "Shave" for $2 or $3 at Woolworths, is better than canned stuff, but not as good as the others I've mentioned.
    Regards,
    Renato
