Default Grandfather's blades, please tell me more

    Hi All,

I have just found (I knew I had it, just forgot all about it) a little silver box that contained several of my Grandfather's razor blades. They both have a slightly rounded shape but the holes within them are different. Unfortunately I don't have his "Double Six" combless razor otherwise I might have given them a go. They must be well over 50 years old, can anyone offer any information on them or the "Double Six"?

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

Got a number of Double Six in a box of stuff that was Grandad's. Wrappers are different though. My guess they must date from the 50s. Also several "Kleen" "Delmos" and "Big Ben" wrappers from the same era. I think just about every cutlery and blade company in the UK must have produced a line in safety razor blades at some point.

I'm going to guess they're from the '30s or earlier, being cut in the 3-hole style of the original Gillette blade, and therefore being unusable in the Gillette NEW (or in any TTO razor, for that matter).

Very cool. Nice to have those within a collection! Your grandfather's blades.
