Default Will the REAL badger please step forward...

I noticed that the badger image for this web site is a North American Badger

I then wondered how many out there realize that the European badger, of brush fame, is in fact a completely different animal?

Note the fur patterns, the narrower head of the Euro badger. In temperament they are quite different too.

    Just an interesting FYI

There's also the fearsome Honey Badger of Africa/parts of Asia.

From what I've seen of them on the nature shows, I wouldn't mess with any of them (especially that Honey Badger!).

Here in the UK there's a huge ahhh factor for badgers, probably because appearances in children's books, but they're powerful little (comparatively) beasts. I once saw a badger that'd wandered into the village, run along a queue of people and knock them all over.

B&B is based in North America.

The badger logo doesn't represent an animal from which brushes are made, he represents the rough and ready individualism of the folks here at Badger and Blade who have the intestinal fortitude to break free of the sheep herd mentality and fearlessly step forward and put bare steel to face.

    How's that?

The original founder of B&B contemplating a logo design ...

... "hey, fellas, I have an idea ..."

The idea was much discussed ...

and after much discussion (excluding the founder!) a decision was reached to commission a new logo, to general satisfaction.

... and so an alternate design was produced by the firm of Robin & Pooh...

And so a committee of B&B founders was sent on a long ...

    ... and arduous journey ...

... finally reaching their destination ...

To seek approval from the Expert himself

Blessings given, the news had to be broken to the Founder who had designed the original logo

Although the meeting started well enough ...

... it quickly degenerated into an all-out brawl

and after committing several serious assaults upon other members, the Founder fled (narrowly avoiding being shot by a guard in the process.)

Disguised and on the run from the Police ...

... who were in hot pursuit ...

... he was eventually apprehended ...

... and taken before the Judge, who (after a brief and "fair" trial) ...

... sentenced him to a lengthy prison sentence ...

... where he languishes to this day.

... so, before you quibble over the intricacies of the design of Robin & Pooh ... remember and rejoice that we narrowly avoided becoming "Toad & Toad".

Be there or be square. Only I can do both!
I've got a cat named Beefeater and a dog named Beefeater, and two goldfish called Beefeater and Beefeater. There's Beefeater my hamster and Beefeater my horse, and my piglet, known as Beefeater of course.

The name has nothing to do with shaving brushes and shaving steel

Joel is a big varsity hockey and vampire movie fan, so he tried making a forum to talk about his interests.
He actually wanted to call the forum Wisconsin and Snipes, but the name was already taken, after he settled on Badger and Blade as an alternative name we all started talking about shaving and he hasn't been able to turn things around ever since.

Razors don't shave people. People shave people!

There are three critical types of moments in life: Times when we should use opportunity to be enamoured with finer details, and times we should ignore the minutia.
