Default FS: Brushes, razors, creams, and more! Astor 90th brush, B&B 09, 39C, Slim, SR 3824

I'm still working on clearing out the den, and more items are making the cut. I've pretty much found 'the' razor and lots of razors are for sale, some top shelf brushes are getting the boot as I've found I don't prefer them, and some soaps and creams along with a few other odds and ends as well. To view more detailed photos please go here and select the album relevant to your interests. I will consider international shipping, but you'll have to pay the difference of shipping, minus 4 dollars. Just contact me and we can work it out. And let me know if you think a price is unreasonable. There's not much I won't work with you on!

I'm really finding that I'm just not a 2-band badger kind of guy. Save my Chubby 2 in 2-band so far. I've found that I quite enjoy that one. I've only used this brush about 10 times and only lost 1 hair. The lettering looks nice and solid and doesn't have problems with paint being completely missing, but it could have been filled better. Still I find it looks quite nice cosmetically. A great brush shape, and the hair is nice and soft, and I liked it over my Plisson EW 14 in 2-band, but the Jubilee is calling me so I can part with this. The box it came in is still with it, and the original wrapping paper.

I would like $230 shipped first class for this brush.

This has much too short a loft for me to use regularly. It's a great handle shape though. It's seen about 20 uses and only lost 7 hairs in that time. This comes with the case that it was shipped in as well.

I would like $125 shipped first class for this brush.

Savile Row 3824 original loft - SOLD!!!

This is the old Savile Row 3824 that had a longer loft on it. It's loft is about 58mm long with a 24mm knot. The brush has seen about 15 uses, and only lost 3 hairs. This is the brush that won the original brush wars, and it is quite a spectacular brush. I have 2 Savile's and I always thought this would be the one I keep, but I've got a gut feeling that my 3124 new loft might eventually turn out to be just as spectacular after more use. If you like a brush with excellent flowthrough it's tough to beat it, and it still has a decent dense feeling that you wouldn't think it would. Just a really fine brush

I would like $95 shipped first class for this brush.

I only know of one spot where you can buy this, and that's at shoeboxshaveshop.com. The brush doesn't get a lot of attention it seems like, but the quality is very nice. It likes to lose a hair after a few shaves, but it's been stable overall. I think it's just the nature of boars period, but this is quite fine boar hair too. I don't think I've had anything that is quite like it. It's unique, but it does look quite a bit like an Omega Pro 48 but it's not. It's been well broken in with 40 uses, and it's lost 37 hairs during that time. Most of these uses were test lathers. I don't think I ever used the brush more than 5 times to actually shave.

I would like $23.50 shipped first class for this brush.

I thought about selling these separate, but I felt like they should be together for some reason. So thus they shall be sold together! The 620 has seen about 17 uses and lost 9 hairs, while the 1305 has seen only about 5 uses and no hairs lost. Nothing wrong it's just I really should weed my collection down to what I use.

I would like $33 shipped first class for these brushes.
Split these - 620 is $18 shipped and the 1305 is $16 shipped

I bought this on ebay some time back. I enjoy the knot, but not so much the handle. I had thought having a reknot done but decided not to. The dimensions of the brush are a 23mm knot approximately, and a loft of 53mm. The hair has not been clipped. It's very good functionally, and for those that like boar you would be well please with this I feel. It will come in the original packaging it came in with a stand, but there's no need to use the stand should you not want to.

I would like $16 shipped first class for this brush.

Another set of brushes that I'd like to go together. Here's a Van Der Hagen Luxury Badger brush, and also a Van Der Hagen Boar brush. Out of the two I would take the badger any day. The boar isn't bad either but not as nice as the badger I feel. This will also come with the stand from the Van Der Hagen Luxury set that fits the badger quite well. The badger will shed a hair here and there occasionally, but I've used it for about 15 times and feel it will hold up, and the boar hasn't shedded any hairs at all. They'd be fun for trying out, and eventually even to reknot.

I want $6 shipped for this set.

Here are 3 handles I was considering using for brush restores, but I changed my mind. the Cream white/Black flared bottom brush is an Ever Ready 100T, the black/cream white bottom is a Stag B1177, and the blue one is a Boreal handle. Can't remember the model, but don't buy Boreal brushes. They just don't stay together. My only item I've found yet that I wouldn't recommend just because the quality isn't there.

I would like $12 shipped first class for these brush handles.

    Custom brush stand - SOLD!

Here's a custom brush stand I had made by one of B&B very own members. I asked for this to be made to hold some particularly large brushes in the middle of the handle, so this won't be an item everyone wants. It's a 3 brush / 2 DE razor stand. The left and right openings respectively measure 41mm wide, and the middle measures between 38-39mm. Some brushes that fit it by the handle like I wanted and not where the knot and handle meet are the Omega Pro 48 on the sides, and the Koh-i-noor SC68 in the middle, though it takes a little bit of finagling to make it work.

I would like $6 shipped first class for this item.

I never opened this as I have so many other items that need to be used, but now that I've learned that it's no longer available again either, I don't want to tempt myself into liking it and then being sad it isn't around anymore. So I'll just sell it right here and now and save myself from that temptation. Just to be sure on this, this is the reformulated Coates shaving cream, and not the original!

I would like $23 shipped first class for this item.

There is what I would say conservately by look 80% left in here, but I know that I didn't use anywhere near 20% of this product. I used a clean utensil to scoop out what I wanted, and have only used this like 5 times. It looked like it hadn't shipped full when I got it. I do like the scent, but I'm back and forth on it often. Sometimes it seems too strong in scent, and other times it's okay. Too many other items that I don't have questions about to hold on to it.

I would like $10 shipped first class for this shaving cream.

Merkur 39C Sledgehammer aka long handle slant - SOLD!

The slant just isn't for me. I did find this one better than the regular slant, but I'd really only want to use it on days when I have a heavy growth to plow through, and it's just not worth having it just for that. It will come in it's box, and even with the Merkur blade it came with, if you consider that a bonus. I noticed that this razor has an excellent grip on the handle. My Merkur 38C doesn't have that to the degree that this one has. I would rate it in excellent condition. The head has a few raised spots if you look closely, but that's their finishing process. It isn't as good as it could be, but doesn't detract from it in the end.

I would like $36 shipped first class for this razor.

I got a lot of razors to get through. There's just not many Gillette razors I've found that I like in use. This is one of them. I'm sure there's plenty out there that will appreciate it much more than I do! The razor is in what I would say very good condition. There are a few spots of pitting on the front of the silo doors, and what looks like pitting on the handle, but overall it doesn't distract from the razor, and adds some character I feel. It has a good sparkle to it, and all the numbers click throughout the razor. The blade gap overall appears even throughout, but it does seem like one side might be favored, but just slightly.

I would like $28 shipped first class for this razor.

Here is another very good condition razor. The blade gap exposure looks even, opens and closes without resistance of both the doors and the knob, and looks very good cosmetically. I notice that the flair tip section could use a better cleaning, but that's really the only thing I can see. Just a razor you'd be happy to use or give to another to use.

I would like $15 shipped first class for this razor.

Another very good condition razor. The paint in the blue is intact very well, and the only spots I notice some slight fading is in the horizontal spots of the razor, but it could possibly be some slight soap scum I could never get out either. The doors open and close smoothly as does the knob. When I first got it it was quite bright and shiny, but I notice it's dulled a bit, but a slight polishing should bring it right back out.

I would like $17 shipped first class for this razor.

Gillette Silver Old Type razor with gold ball end handle - SOLD!

This razor isn't in as nice cosmetic shape as most of my others. There's some stuff on the razor that I wasn't able to get off on a good part of the razor. I think it'll come off with much more work. All the teeth on it are nice and straight. I would call this fair with the possibility of becoming good. I like it enough to grab it when I saw it though. The gold handle came with something and forget what it was now, but I figured it would match up well being bundled with this. There is an oil spot on the gold handle, and you can see some areas of brassing, and both of these handles have cracks near the top and bottom. I would call this one betweeen fair and good.

I would like $8.50 for this shipped first class.

I don't know a great deal about Kronas, just that it's too light for me to want to keep. The razor I would rate in very good condition. It is very clean, and the doors open and close smoothly with even blade gap exposure.

I would like $12 shipped first class for this razor.

Canadian Gillette New Long Tooth - SOLD!

Here's a canadian version of the Gillette new. The teeth on this model are the long ones. I would rate this one in good condition. It has plate loss throughout the razor on the head, on the handle, on the base, but for all of the plating loss it still maintains what I feel is a good for the razor. The bottom of the base is in the best condition. All the teeth are nice and straight.

I would like $15 shipped first class for this razor.

This is a short tooth version of the Gillette New. I would rate this as in slightly better condition than the Canadian, but only because the wear isn't as bad on the cap and base. The middle of the handle shows a lot of brassing and is quite dull, but the teeth are straight and in good condition. The ends of the caps on the sides are almost completely brassed.

I would like $15 shipped first class for this razor.

This razor is in very good condition. It could use some more polishing and cleaning. The plating in the middle of the razor is wearing thin and you can see a clear silverish spot there. A very good sized one. Say the size of a dime.

I would like $8 shipped first class for this razor.

Another single edge razor here. I'm just not into them. There is some brassing right near the teeth under the head of the razor, and near the very edges of the razor on the head. There is also some slight brassing down near the end of the twist knob and a little above that on the first and second ring in the same spot. I would rate this as in good to very good condition about right in between there with the slight brassing. The teeth are nice and straight.

I would like $8 shipped first class for this razor.

Saw it last night after coming in from work. Yes, I did purchase the Canica Chubby while working-as if I'm the only one to do so. I remember when I first saw that Astor and just drooled.
