White Pens. Not so popular?

I like the look of white pens.
Not as much as black, burgundy or brown, but I do like white pens.

I've noticed that not a lot of white pens are posted here.

Are they not that popular?
Tell me that this Waterman Charleston doesn't look awesome (I don't own one... yet...)

I think some might consider white pens to be feminine. I have a Pelikan in white tortoise, and love it.

I've got an Esterbrook nurse's pen, a Sheaffer No-nonsense, and a Lamy Safari in white. None get used much.

I never thought I'd own a white tortoise Pelikan M400 but went into an antique store in Half Moon Bay one afternoon and there was a broken one for really cheap and I (of course) couldn't pass it up, took it home and fixed it. It remains a favorite to this day, usually inked with Pelikan brown ink. It was like a sign when I walked happily out of the antique store with the pen in my shirt pocket and a long line of pelicans flew over!

I'd be afraid of ink staining it.

Another reason to stay away from Baystate Blue.

I remember seeing somewhere a comment about how "way back when", the colour of the pen (not the ink, the pen itself) was co-ordinated with certain professions. So, it went something like doctors used yellow pens, clergymen used white, lawyers used red, and plain old businessmen used black. ... or something like that.

I mention that as a historical curiosity only, and to see if anyone else recalls that and can point me in the direction of further information about that.

I'd love to see pens in more colours (including white which no doubt some internet guru will tell us isn't really a colour.)

My personal pet peeve ... I wish it weren't so hard to get a large-sized Sailor 1911 with a Nagahara nib in something other than black.

id worry about having to keep them clean, doing what i do i wash my hands 40 times a day with what i touch, and thats just at work and seeing what comes off them i certainly couldnt use one at work without it ending up a different colour at the end of the day, but i like the look of certain white pens i have seen just not sure i would be comfortable with on, the slightest smudge on it would drive me batty, would end up spending more time wiping it clean then actualy using it.

Also why i dont have white shoes, a white car, or white towels in the bathroom lol

It doesn't look awesome.

There's no arguing with taste. I generally prefer darker colors, and marbled patterns to solids, but there's something for everyone. I do get the impression that white is not the most popular color for pens, so perhaps this is one of those rare times when I'm in the majority.

I believe Visconti made a white Templars pen. It was lovely indeed.

That's my impression, to an extent. If I were buying a pen as a gift for a guy, it wouldn't even be a consideration. If it was for a woman, probably in the top 5. I probably would not go out to buy one for myself, but if someone gave me one? I'd probably use it, depending on the pen.

Add white belts to that list. Had a white 1965 Chevy Impala, red interior, 289, 3 on the column that I liked a lot. No to white bread.

My wife has several Papermate PhD mechanical pencils in "pastel white". They all look a bit smudgy and dingy from finger oil.

White is a neutral color. It is not masculine or feminine. I just guess men like white less than other colors is the reason they don't post many white pens.

I have an ivory Waterman and love it. No problem with staining after 5 years. Now if I could figure out which jacket it's in.....

I suppose a white pen would go along with Apple product folk. I still use a Blackberry.

White or Ivory is a space waiting to be filled in my collection when the right pen comes along.
