    Default Do you shave for...?

I was wondering as of late why I was shaving. Now I enjoy it, thats part of it but then I distilled from that a basic question. Do you shave for visual or do you shave for feel? One does lead to the other but I have found myself as of late only wanting to take care of the visual and leave the feel part to special occasions when Tiffany will be around and well... but yeah.

As I was about to create the poll I realized some may choose both but if you had to pick one what would it be?
EXPECT success in every shave and the universe will certainly make way for that success.

Definitely feel. My beard growth is light in color. I can have a day or two of growth and you wouldn't know until you got right up close. My goal is to have a kissably smooth face. :)

I definitely like both. I like that I can provide a smooth face for my wife and I like to look neat. Truth is, even though I'm pretty - I don't spend all day looking in the mirror. I do like to admire my shaving work by rubbing a finger across a smooth expanse of face (which is, by the way, a great way to spread poison ivy).

I am sure all of us faceturbate occasionally, especially after a really good shave I shave to just kill off my beard kind of like how you kill a wounded animal to keep it from suffering. I'd accept having a bit of growth if my beard wasn't sort of patchy so I shave for both look and feels but mostly for looks I'd say.

While I believe I look particularly dashing with my Sonny Crockett five o'clock shadow, I have to say that I love the feel of a BBS shave. It makes me feel like I got it just right.

I'm definitely doing it for the feel of it. And of course the fun of it. I actually don't mind the look of a little stubble. Especially if the growth is fairly uniform consistency across head and face. But I love the feel of a BBS.

If I don't get the full BBS feel, I feel like I just wasted my time.

    EDIT:
I mean, I'm damn handsome whether I have stubble or not, so feel is paramount.

during the week, it is visual only for work. No one to impress there. On the weekend or the rare weeknight date with the wife, for feel.

I'd have to go for both. My facial hair is light in color and patchy so I can let it go a few days to maybe a week before I look like a stray dog with mange. I love to shave now though, so I shave at least every other day. (makes the wife happy)

Feel for sure. I can have good looking shave in one pass but to get BBS I have to go for 3 or 4.

To be honest I shave because I have to for work. If I wasn't there i dont know that I would have ever found B&B though. I enjoy shaving, but I guess mine is more visual than feel.

Both here; The visual is not so critical, since designer stubble is in, and the folks at the office are OK with it. Feel is for SWMBO's enjoyment, of course; but I also feel like I've wasted my time unless I get that BBS.

Feel is most imporant to me.

I must shave due to workplace safety regulations. If these were not in play, I might actually go for some type of beard. I despise the unshaved look that seems to be all the rage among Hollywood types so that would never be an option for me (either grow a real beard or shave).

    feel>visual

not difficult to achieve good visual - 1 pass or so
difficult to get the right feel - 3 passes

    Visual.
Without facial hair, I look young enough that I get seriously carded when buying tobacco.
With... Well it doesn't grow in enough to make it look proper.
Saving money? No, I said that was my Shaving money.

    Both Visual and Feel.

    For Visual:
After the first day of not shaving I start looking like a bum. So it has to come off.

    For Feel:
I used to get a lot of ingrown hairs, as in Pus/blood Volcanoes throbbing painfully on my face. So long story short, I have found that wet shaving with a DE and achieving DFS is the best way (for me) to keep my skin Clear and Healthy.
I am not wise. If I thought I was, I wouldn't learn anything.
