What I love about my Cella is that after a cold water rinse a rubbed in splash of thayers medicated witch hazel and a splash of clubman citrus musk hours later I still smelled the Cella on my skin!

I'm jealous of all you guys with good noses for smell. My reaction to the dry bitter smell of Cella is an involuntary gagging reflex. Great product, but I can't go around gagging when I'm trying to shave, so I can't use it. Bummer!

. . . He went around back and into the basement because he was hungry. He ate cold beans out of a can and drank some water, and then he saw the small mirror Parker had bought with the razor and the can of lather. He looked at himself and knew he had to take a chance on staying long enough to shave. He shaved, and that made him feel better. . .

"Bitter" - wow, to me it's the sweetest smelling shaving product I've ever smelled.

Well, <ahem> I consider myself a Dr Pepper fanatic so when I get my Cella in a few days I'll be able to chime in on it's Dr Pepper-ness. It will be extremely amazing if it smells like good ol' Dublin Dr Pepper. Rest it's soul. :(

it IS wonderful.... almonds, cherries, marzipan... I can see the Dr Pepper notes too. one of my favorite soaps

I turned a buddy of mine onto De shaving a few weeks ago, and gave him a few cream samples so he can lather easier - his fiance thinks they smell like her dad (NOT a good thing) so I gave him my Cella container... which prompted me to buy the brick.

so I'm cella-less for the next few days.... but then I'm set for years!

It technically can be called "bitter". The scent is from benzaldehyde, which the chief component of bitter almond oil. The cherry comparison is very apt because bitter almond oil is used to flavor maraschino cherries.

To me it's more of a rancid almond scent, kind of like an "overly-sweet" wedding cake smell. The smell is
just "ok" for me but the performance is OUTSTANDING. It will always be in my den.

I am sure I'll be flogged but I hate cherries and cannot get past that scent. No almonds, all I can get it is Marciano cherries. I am glad all I got was a sample as it is getting thrown out of the den! I do like bing cherries btw
