I tried mine for the first time today as well. I really liked it, same quality performance as the other TOBS products. The scent was not overpowering like the TOBS Sandalwood, but was certainly present and smelled quite good to my nose. I think this will be a good alternative for those not wanting to fork out the extra cash for GFT.

Are there any aftershaves that have a coconut scent? I used the Speick balm today and thought they went fairly well together.

Now, if only I could shave twice today so I could try out the Windsor soap I got yesterday too. I guess that will have to wait until tomorrow morning.

Trumpers Limes aftershave or Pinaud Bay Rum are my 2 favorites with Trumpers Coconut, can't wait to try the TOBS Coconut!

Does this cream have actual coconut oil or just coconut scented?

It has a fatty acid found in coconut oil (and breast milk) called Lauric acid which is referred to as Coconut acid on the pack. Lauric acid makes up 50% of coconut's fatty acid content and is used extensively by pharmacists and soap makers for its beneficial properties. When used in soaps, it helps create a fluffy lather and give firmness to the soap. It's medicinal properties include, converting to monolaurin when absorbed into the body (monolaurin fights bacterial, fungal and viral infections), an ability to improve dry skin, and an ability to convert bad cholesterol to good cholesterol.

My eton college and lavender tubs have coconut acid, but not coconut oil in pure form. I guess the coconut TOBS cream is not going to be much different than the "regular" TOBS creams in terms of performance.

I was thinking that maybe this was going to be on par with TOBS avocado, which has avocado oil in pure form and from the general consensus seems to be a notch above the other TOBS creams.

Got a sample of TOBS from Garry and I shaved with it this morning (Thursday morning). The performance is great, just what you'd expect from a TOBS product. In fact I'd say it may be a step above the Sandalwood, and although I haven't tried it yet, I kind of imagine it could be on par with the much lauded Avocado in terms of overall performance. Very thick and extremely slick lather. It sticks to your face and isn't easily wiped away.

The scent, to my nose, is an equal blend of cocoa butter and coconut. It definately isn't a straight coconut scent at all.
As funny as it sounds, it almost smells like the frosting used on German Chocolate cakes... O.o

I just got my first badger brush in the mail last night and whipped up my first lather. I used some of this tobs coconut in a sample from Garry. I liked the lather and brush and the scent of mild coconut.
I don't like my bowl much....thought it was too small.
Next time I will hand lather and put the extra lather into the bowl as it generates.

I rec'd my new jar of TOBS Coconut from Fendrihans(in Canada)2 days ago.I've used the cream twice and must say that its very, very good,I prefer this scent over Trumpers and the overall performance is almost, but not quite,as good as Trumpers. However, the price is $10-14 cheaper so I'm sold on it. Give it a try if you like Coconut. You will not be disappointed.

I purchased this cream from Phil @ Bullgoose a couple of weeks ago....Great fresh cracked coconut scent, usual outstanding TOBS performance (rich, thick, slick lather). IMO this is how a Cocount cream should smell like....my beloved TOBS Sandalwood has competition.

Just received my Tub of the TOBS Coconut - same TOBS excellent performance, scent seems to be more "cocoa butter" than the Trumper's Coconut IMHO.
