Default If I like Red IPs, what else?

Hello everyone! So i have to say that I primarily use Red IPs and usually perform the best. But I really want to try something else that is similar to Red IPs. Derby's is no no for me b/c they don't agree at all. What would you all suggest? Gillette Silver Blue's, Astra SP's or Gillette 7'Oclock SP (black)? What do you think? Thanks for taking the time and reading this. Looking forward to what you all have to say. Have a great day!

Any of the Gillette o'clocks. The Astra is a good value (10-12¢ each).

If you find something that works, you should stick with it.

    what razor(s) are you using?

I use a merkur 1904, Ej Barley Chrome primarily and switch between the two. I agree about sticking with the same blade, but I just want to try some other things I guess!

Nothing wrong with trying other blades. I use a different blade and razor every day. It is not uncommon for me to have anywhere between 8 and 10 different brands of blade unwrapped at any given time.

Don't overlook Lord Platinum Class - inexpensive and smooth. My personal favorite is Astra SP.

As has been said, use what works for you.

For me, I can't tell the difference between Red IP's and Crystal (Blue IP's) if I'm blindfolded. The Crystals are a bit less expensive, as well.

I was going to say Crystals, and Walmart Personna-yes that's right, and as a hunch, Bic Platinum Chrome. All three of these blades are platinum chrome coated and made by Personna. I have tried all except the BIC, and they were all sharp, smooth and pretty durable.

I used to use Red IP in my SuperSpeed and Merkur blades in my HD. I found those blades similar, but with Merkur blades 4-5 times the cost I now use Red IPs in both.

Not sure if you were implying WM Personnas are the same blade? Unfortunately they aren't.

In my opinion; SuperMax Super Platinum. Nice smooth middle of the road blade.

    Actually, why don't you just get one pack each of;

SuperMax Super Platinum, Astra, Gillette Yellow Pack, Lord Platinum, and Feather.

Agreed with both. The two blades I have settled on are red IP's and Lord Platinum's. They are excellent blades, sharp, smooth, cheap and non-polarizing like Feathers or Derbys

Astra SPs and Personna Lab Blues are my favourites so far. Particularly the latter.

+1 on these being my favs and +1 on maybe a slight nod to the Lb Blue! Red IP was one of the blades in my first sample pack. I liked it along with Crystals and Astra SP. The Astra SP became my top pick. Then I found the Personna Super (Lab/Blue). Tied for first place is my starter line-up!

BIC Chrome Platinums are made by BIC in Greece, not by Personna.

And, they are great blades! Quite possibly the most polarizing brand known to man.
