    Default Vintage Micarta Rescale

Well, this is at least the third set of scales for this Hellberg near wedge (the second I've put on). The first set: http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthr...erg-near-wedge, I liked from the perspective that it was fun to do, but the more I looked at them, the gaudier they got to me. It was just way over the top for my tastes, but fun nonetheless.

B&B user and Canadian gentleman Trenton posted about a vintage micarta find and his subsequent rescale efforts. I LOVED them. I PM'd him attempting to buy some of the material, which of course he declined, and proceed to ship me a sheet of the stuff. Saweet!

So here's the result. Very nice material to work with and great color. No finish, just some moderate sanding to a low luster type finish. I wanted long "swooping" scales for this one and inconsistent coloring to give it some character and retain the handmade look. All in all, more sophisticated than the Swedish flag debacle

I tried a MMOC once. I've sinced switched to straight razor shaving because it was less dangerous.

I really like the lines and especially the way everything lines up for strop duty. Perfection!

Very nice. I like the shape of the scales and I also like the look of the thin wedge. Nice work.

Well done. I would like to borrow your design, I'm really liking how the scales extend beyond the more traditional length at the pivot.
You find it offensive? I find it funny. That's why I'm happier than most.
