Default Dark Knight Rises ****POSSIBLE SPOILERS****

This thread is for those who've seen the movie ONLY.

Does anyone else think Nolan helped set up a Justice League movie?

since Bale won't be returning as Batman again, it seems like Nolan served up (Robin) as his replacement in a JL movie as Nightwing.

I would rather see Bale play Batman in a JL movie. And althougth Nightwing has donned the cape & cowl at least twice that I'm aware of it's just not the Justice League without Batman .

I have not seen the new Batman yet. I never go to theaters so I will have to wait for the DVD. I loved the last two Nolan did. I actually like most his films. Inception, the Prestige....he makes good flicks.

I had fairly low expectations so I ended up really enjoying the movie. I agree that the could have done a little better camera work on the flash-backs to not give away the truth behind Bane & Talia.

I loved it, and although it started out slow it ended with a bang. I hope this is it, if there is a reboot I'll be disappointed...

I loved Inception, once I got around to watching it sober.

I haven't seen it yet either. But, the first thing that I thought of after hearing about the tragedy in Colorado ~ was anyone in there doing a CAM of the movie's opening night showing and filmed the violence ?

I am waiting for Amazon to carry the DVD. I really liked BM II and like Bale as an actor. I am just not a person who goes to movie theaters. Last movie I went to was when Independence Day came out and went with friends I was visiting to see it. Before then, 9 to 5 because my wife wanted to see it. See I don't go often. LOL!

I pretty much have had to drag my wife to see all of the recent superhero movies. She doesn't hate them, but points out that I grew up reading comic books and knowing all of these characters, but she didn't and doesn't care so much about them. This is the first one of these movies that she has really loved! Right after we saw it, she told me it was the best comic book movie she has ever seen. Before we saw it, she had been concerned that it would be too long. But she came out of the theater raving about the film. I think she liked the fact that it had a plot that mattered, and wasn't nonstop action, but built up to it at the end (Plus, I think she really likes Christian Bale!). Personally, I liked all three of the latest Batman movies very much. They strike the right balance between action and emotion, and between humor and seriousness, and make you really care about the characters. Anyway, two thumbs up from us for this flick.

I had a hard time following it sober! It really is brilliant though. The multi-level dream sequences towards the end were a bit confusing. After seeing it the second time it all made sense (except for the very last shot.....of course).

Yeah, I really an hoping against any reboot. Maybe that's why that added the Robin/Nightwing scene at the end.

Seeing it the second time helps a lot. I have to say, Leo has come a long way since Titanic ( which I loathe)

I like Nolan. I'm not a big DC comic fan, but I enjoy the Dark Knight series. But I'm going to have to watch the third installment again. I could not understand what anyone was saying. I was not sober for this showing. lol

A Justice League movie based off of the style that Nolan used to portray the world of Batman would be absolutely horrible. Nolan tried to keep the Batman movies as "realistic" as possible and given the heroes in the Justice League and the powers they possess, it just wouldn't go down very well in my opinion.

To be perfectly honest, I didn't like Nolan's interpretation of the Batman universe. I thought that the villains were awesome and kept the movies interesting for me but Batman was incredibly weak. I would have preferred a Batman that was closer to what is portrayed in the comics and cartoons then the one Nolan gave us to be honest.

Dark Knight Rises gets a 6.5 out of 10 for me. Bane was awesome as hell but that's not enough for me to score the movie any higher. It was hysterical that Batman got absolutely rocked by Bane in their first encounter (which was a hand to hand combat match), gets his back broken, gets tossed in an underground prison for 5 months, his back heals with no problem, even after dropping 30+ feet with a rope wrapped around it (TWICE!!!), and then goes back to Gotham and kicks Bane's ass in, you guessed it, a hand to hand fight. Sorry, but that was ridiculous.

Can't wait for the next series of Batman movies. Hopefully whoever does it gets it right. :)

Yup.....didn't people used to call him Leonardo D'Crappio? He is one of the best actors in Hollywood now. Him along with Tom cruise were actually considered to play Patrick Bateman in American Psycho, which ultimately went to Christian Bale (the current Batman). I think all three of these guys are great actors.....Christian Bale probably being the best though......his accents are uncanny! I actually though he was American years back.

If you guys want to see another great movie with Christian Bale.....check out "Flowers of War". Just released.

If they reboot the Batman franchise sfter this they need to jump 40 year into the futur & do a Batman Beyond movie. Then they could even bring back the Joker!

Batman Beyond was great. But I'd also love to see a movie version of The Dark Knight Returns.

Such an awesome cartoon. That would definitely be interesting to see in a theater.
