Hi,

That is a Semogue 1530, with mixed boar/badger hair. Quite a stiff fellow, the boar is one of the Semogue's stiffest and the badger is "pure".

I knew you could come to the rescue Oversaturn

Alas I wasn't any help. I like the look of it - as usual :biggrin1:

Morning Coffee: Colombian Supremo la paez
Prep: Hot Cloth face wash with MRGLO
Preshave: EJ Cream
Soap/Cream: Palmolive
Razor: Edwin Jaggar 89LBL
Blade: Derby
Brush: Simpson Keyhole 2
Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG
Post: Warm then Cold water rinse followed by Anthony Logistics Astringent
AS/ASB: Pre de Provence

The Palmolive didn't exactly burst out into massive clouds of thick cream. However, it held up pretty well on the skin and the scent is pleasant. The Anthony Astringent felt great and did tighten my skin up a bit. For me, the Derby Razor blades do a really great job! No gushers

Good Morning !
~07/24/2012~

Semogue 830 \\ EJ BChrome w/ Red IP \\ 3P Pre Per E Post Barba \\ Haslinger Coconut \\ Nivea Replenishing Post Shave Balm

So I actually had my first pass with 2012 LE RazoRock "Mudder Focker" SS. Turns out officially that it doesn't agree with my skin unfortunately. Sad to say but I might have to cross RazoRock completely off my list for any new soaps. But thankfully it isn't MWF or others I adore. So the rest of shave consisted of Haslinger's Coconut SS which never fails me of lather that has a consistency of Uber Lather (no joke!)! Well I hope you all have a great day friends!

The sad part is my Mother was born in Portugal, and someone in my family usually goes over there for the summer every year. And yet I have not one Portuguese shaving product...any recommendations? My Uncle Nuno is going over in September (starting point, Lisbon of course...)

Musgo Real is the Portugese brand that comes to mind immediately.

Morning coffee:
Again served in my trusted Cookie Monster cup.

Prep:

Williams soap lather applied in the shower.
Left on my face for 5-8 Minutes.

Shave:
Razor:
Gillette 1962 Flare Tip SS

Feather
Brush:
Unknown Badger from a shaving set
Soap:
The Real Shaving Co.
AS:
Brut Revolution

This shave was simply stunning. The closest, non-bloodiest shave I ever had in my 20 years of wet shaving. I think I found my blades of preference.
Yes, I was very careful while using them, but I only needed 2 passes compared to my regular 3 pass shaving done with other blades.
I am going to stick with them until Sunday, then on Sunday switch back to Astra to compare and then... let's see.

:) Erik
