    Default razor stand suggestions

so....I was hoping for some suggestions.

my share of the counterspace is a small tray roughly 5"X10".
enough for two brushes two razors a hair comb an alum block and soap dish.

I let both the brushes sit on their base and no issues with that.. the razors right now just lay there.

    I really like these
    http://www.muehle-shaving.com/shop/a...rs/6/25/RHM_SR

but am on a purchase sabattical.
I was wondering how you hold up the daily razor?
I am hoping for a minimalist kind of setup..
so that eliminates tooth brush holders/pipe racks/brush razor combo stands.

does anyone have any ideas that don't use one of the above?

this might be trivial but I am trying to keep my mind occupied and away from B/S/T :)

That is a very cool stand from Muehle. I wonder if the razor would be lopsided and want to fall over though?

Default Inexpensive and minimalist razor stand solution.

Not fancy at all, but useful for rotating DE razors:

Find a scrap piece of wood. (I used a 1x4 scrap) Drill holes in it with a 3/8" to 1/2" bit depending on your razors. Finish wood to your standards. Stick razors in your new razor rack slash display. Minimalist and practically free.

If it helps you pull the trigger on the stand you like then you can get it for $30 here:

..no..its not the price..i am part of the summer of restraint thread..
the stand is nice to have..i really don't need it...and i am trying to come up with ideas ..
since i have all my stuff on a tray ..i was thinking a low profile,
head downwards like the muhle has seems ideal.
but i could not find any others that have a similar idea..
and I am a pretty good googler..so thought I would pose the question to the collective..

That is very nice looking. You could paint it as well.

I should probably sand and paint/stain that "stand." I made it in about 5 minutes in the garage because I had razors laying around on the sinktop. Now it has water stains and soap residue all over it. My father in law is a master woodworker and would die of embarrasment for me if he saw this.

Here's the deluxe model (ha ha) I have in the garage. This is where I keep the razors that aren't in the everyday rotation.

Totally freehand, no pattern. I kind of prefer the random look to clean lines. I also like the more "raw" look of the wood with it unsanded and unfinished. Seems fitting for a razor stand made from scrap wood found in the shed.

I just ordered a Conk stand, but I think I will be making a wooden rack for all my extras. I can't believe I didn't think of that.

I'm planning on getting one of these. $11 from JC Penney is hard to beat:

I just wish it came in a six or eight toothbrush model.

    Thanks TonyJoe.

I like the wooden block idea too, all sorts of possibilities there. You could go to Woodcraft of somewhere similar and pick up a really nice rectangular block of something exotic for cheap if you were so inclined. Simple & functional.

Wow thats a sweet display! I was just thinking about how I could display mine. Was looking at cheapy toothbrush holders but this is a lot better. I like that you didn't go with clean lines and it does look sweet with the unfinished look. I just don't know what a couple months of water and soap would do to it . Either way I'm interested. *leaves to go find wood*

Nice stand. I'm going to make something like it, I think, I'm guessing birch would be a good wood.

And they're even cheaper at Connaught.

I use the large Dovo stand.

It's the only one that will handle the big Merkurs without tipping over

I made these a while back.

This one holds a razor and brush.

The block is walnut and the hook is made from corian sheet.

And here is the stand for my Feather AS.

I turned it from aluminum bar stock on my friends lathe.
