never tried it with a candle wax, always used the wax seal sticks

    ie: http://www.jherbin.com/sealing_waxes.shtml

curious to hear how the candle wax works though....

yeah, so candle wax, not a great idea, just saying lmao, pipes okay, im okay, wax ALLLLL over the place lmao just shed right off and not nicely either, but it was cheap wax and i could have probably been more patient dipping it onto the tip, by the way i took a candle put it into a small sauce pan (also okay) let it melt on low heat then when i wanted to dip it on i would tilt the pan to have enough depth to dip the tip as it were, process seemed okay but not so much the results it was spur of the moment so i forgot pics (PALM SMACK) but ill try it again with something else and remember the camera next time

also, keep in mind it wasn't a permanent solution - one I had to redo frequently.... but think a heavier wax will definitely do you more justice :)

Wrapped some electrical tape around the clay pipe today. Easy to remove when it gets nasty and cushions everything for my teeth.

My meer lined falcon bowl has proved to be the best smoker I have for this magnum opus so it has been getting the bulk of my my smokes. My clay pipe though smokes almost as well and I don't have the pressure or worrying about it like a one of my great pipes so I enjoy it a little more than normal.

good idea!!! anything to avoid the grittiness on teeth :)

plus the falcon's bowl won't get prohibitively hot to handle :)

Haiku, I keep on meaning to pick your brain on your Kirsten. Any chance you can do a mini review thread on it? I have an estate Falcon and like it, so I am debating a new Kirsten full bent or a new bent Falcon with a few new bowls. Aesthetically the bent Falcon hurts my feelings looking at it. Your Kirsten on the other hand...beeeutiful.

Has kirsten started production again? You can't trust their website for up to date info. I called them back in May and they didn't have anything to offer. Bent kirstens show up on ebay every once in a while, but even used they sell for dang near the new price. I'm not really any good at reviews, but for the trouble getting a kirsten is going to be I'd just get a Falcon with a couple bowls for cheaper than one kirsten. The falcons are easier to clean. Not that cleaning the kirsten is hard, it's just a bit quicker/easier on the falcon. With a kirsten you cannot get pipe goo in your mouth that builds up in the pipe. The kirsten does smoke a bit cooler, much cooler with the mouthpiece Elie made for it. Kirsten bowls are conical on the inside so you have to pack them a bit different. And the last thing I can think of currently is get a large or extra large bowl for the standing kirsten, any smaller and it falls over(unless you house isn't level like mine is, I got a downhill walk to the bathroom)

I got a bunch of those things, they don't fit the clay pipe though. It is only about as thick as a pencil, maybe even smaller.

How about some food grade tubing? Lots of sizes, so I'm pretty sure you could find something to fit, and you could buy a little from a local homebrew supply shop. I'd rather put that in my mouth than electrical tape. Just saying.
