Lightbulb 30 day soap elimination match - Vitos Coconut vs. Provence Sante Green Tea

AND The Winner = Vitos Coconut!

I originally set out to use up some inventory this month by focusing on using just a couple products for the entire month. I alternated these soaps every other day.

As the month progressed it became apparent to me that the PS just lacked the blade protection that the Vitos provides so I'm declaring this contest over early (by a TKO).

The Vitos lives on to fight again (and remain in my inventory) whereas the Provence Sante is going to the shower.

Spending the month doing this was definitely worth it and will help narrow down your soap collection to what really works well for you.

Not sure yet what brawl will occur in August but I'm already planning a Tabac vs. D.R. Harris Marlborough match in the colder months

How would you rate Vitos against Cella?

I do that to eliminate brushes (this month it's Duke 1 vs Rooney 1/1) but never thought to do it to eliminate or finish soaps and creams. The Tabac vs Harris match sounds like a good one.

Brilliant, this is a great idea. I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how to whittle down the numbers of soaps and creams. I believe starting august I shall do just this. I can also see how this would be useful with the excess brushes. Again, BRILLIANT!

    BINGO

Deacon Frank - Vitos and Cella are very close - too close for a contest like this. It'd be boring - like shaving with only one soap.

Brushes - oh yeah, I need to thin the herd on those too....

Thank you for the report: does the "flavor" of the Vitos make a significant difference? I believe there are 3 types...

Similar to my technique but I am not quite that organized. I just choose each morning what I feel like shaving with and eventually some soaps just don't get touched and land up being PIF'ed as I try and convert people to wetshaving or to a friend who is already. Takes a few months but pretty soon you realize some soaps just get used out of guilt as opposed to being enjoyed. Have a couple of favorites but some variety is great. Sure there are people who enjoy a larger variety but for me it is sitting at somewhere less than 5 (busy with a summer knockout round at the moment).

This is the only Vitos that I've tried so I can't be much help.

Great idea in some ways, but for me it would be like saying "Times are tough: Which of my children should I keep? The smartest, the best athlete, the prettiest, the nicest . . .?"
