Molton Brown Cool Buchu (Marshalls purchases)...

I've become a bit of a MB fanboy in the past couple months after snagging some Fresh Bushukan Citrus Splash at Marshalls. Well today I saw that they had Cool Buchu marked down to $20, so I grabbed a bottle without ever having smelled it. I sprayed it on a piece of paper when I got back to the office, and have been sniffing it periodically this afternoon (is that weird?). Anyway, I loved it in the beginning. Had a nice fresh mint scent to it. Later on, I started noticing that it smelled very similar to a scent that I remembered from my teenage years. I couldn't think of it at first, then it hit me... CK One. Anyone else have this or tried it and noticed that? I'm hoping I'm off base, because I don't want to have to take it back but I really don't want people thinking I'm wearing CK One. Haha.

By the way, here are some other frags I've picked up at Marshalls/TJ Maxx lately...

Zirh Ikon - big fan, and the wife approves. I think the frankincense is what I pick up and like so much.
Gray Flannel - didn't like it at all. Returned it.
Kanon Norwegian Wood - like it quite a bit, and another one that the wife likes (she usually thinks everything just smells like soap).
Halston Z-14 - I like it. Seems more "grown up" than what I usually pick out. Will probably not wear it until fall rolls around.

I usually don't wear cologne at all. Maybe once/month. I started wet shaving in January, which led to an obsession with aftershaves, which has now turned into frags. Anyway, here's what is still in my cupboard that I've accumulated over the years...

Abercrombie Woods - my wife got it for me as a gift a year or two ago, because she loves it.
Armani Code
Kenneth Cole Reaction - have had it for 7+ years. The girlfriend I had at the time used to go crazy for it. Haven't used it in years.
Ferragamo Subtil pour Homme - got it because there were times when I wanted something more... well... subtle. Another I haven't used in years.

What exactly is wrong with CK One?

I like stuff like that or Lacoste White, and if this has a similar smell I think I'd like to check it out.

I like Marshalls and TJ Maxx for Frag purchases, I too bought a bottle of Ikon at Marshalls awhile back for $7 and I ended up loving it, get a lot of compliments from ladies as well.

Nothing wrong with it, per se. It just reminds me of when I was a little teeny bopper and EVERYONE wore it. I think my brain just still associate it with teenagers.

BTW since I posted this, I have worn it a couple of times. I like it just fine. It does have just a touch more "sophistication" than CK One to my nose. Decent summer scent if you like those types of scents.

Fair enough, and I do like those types of scents so the recommendation is appreciated. Unfortunately, I haven't had much luck with the local Marshalls

Me neither. I am always jealous of what everyone says they have found at Marshalls, Ross, and TJ Maxx. The ones by my house never have anything good.

I stopped in the Marshall's by my house the other day. I was surprised at how expensive some of the frags were. Maybe they hadn't gotten around to marking them down yet. There was a lot of stuff, but nothing really caught my eye. It's hit and miss--sometimes they have all kinds of things that I like at great prices. It pays to drop in every now and then.

Next time you are in Marshall's see if they have Azzaro Pour Homme. It's the best thing they have on the shelf (when they have it).

They usually have it at the ones around here. I've smelled it before. I don't think I like it enough to own it.

My latest Marshalls trip uncovered a bunch of Mont Blanc frags - Individuel, Exceptionnel, Starwalker, and Presence Cool. All were $29.99. Hmmm...
