    Default My first straight razor

So this just came in the mail last night. I assume the stone that was included with the razor (in the bottom picture) is used similarly to the pasted balsa wood in the WD kit, just to help keep an edge? Thanks for all of the advice on the other thread I started, I'll be sending it out to Wid to get honed up. I have a WD sight unseen set coming in the mail so I can practice honing and stropping. I also bought a Big Mama strop from Star Shaving to use once I get the hang of it. If you guys have any other advice I'm all ears. Click image for larger version.

Looks nice, don't know the make as I'm still a noob but hopefully you'll be happy with it. Congrats.

When the razor starts to pull put some water or shaving lather on the stone and give the razor no more than 5 passes edges leading and blade completely flat with no pressure and then wipe the blade and strop and that should bring the edge back.
