Deep Overtone....... he says :I soak them no longer then 5 minutes, and I air dry them. I take better care of them than I do my girlfriend!" I think he made that mistake and I feel bad for that girlfriend.

Can you not wet shave with a SAFETY RAZOR?!?!? What is your preoccupation with my life? Email me and I will send you the pics of the stones, as well as a pdf copy of the report. The site is not allowing me to upload it. [email protected]

I'm only responding to appease the people you evoked with your comments towards me; you sound like a sociopath, looking up my old posts. Seriously, what is your deal?

The stone are less then a month old; I never over soak them, and I always dry them before putting them away. I take excellent care of them because I invested quite a lot of money in them.

I have Choseras, and a Jupaku, and I soak them 15 min prior to honing, and they're fine.

About a month ago - I cut 2" off a 1k C (not the one in the pic) and the cross section shows no sign of any issues.
Sorry - no pic of the cut, I didn't think anyone would want to see it.

Edit - my 400x came with one pockmark that looks like one divot on your 2k (or is it an 800x, 2nd pic, LL) I thought, still think, it was a manufacturing blemish. It seems stable, and it'll probably lap out. It's not in my way so Im not bothered by it.

Edit 2 - the first pic, LL - That's the 10k, it banged into the rubber stone in transit to you and that fissured the corner. Same thing happened to me, I had to return mine, the whole corner fell off in my hand when I took off the cloth wrapper.

the edge chips are from being banged against each other...the brown one with the pitting was a factory defect when they cast the stone.....

the edge chips can be fixed with chamfering the edge...

the brown and the blue and the green can be fixed with lapping...

sorry for everyones rough replies to you but you have a tendency to tell fanciful stories... *(the wonder coti... the fabrication... etc... ad nauseum..)

we as a whole are very knowledgeable about razors and hones and fabrication.... we don't bullshit easily...

The stones have never touched each other; I lapped all three of those stones and it got worse. I used the DMT lapping plate and also lapping film. Do me a favor and email me, [email protected] so I can get that coti report before I exit this forum forever. My time is too precious to deal with this bull shit. SharpeningSupplies.com had fedex pick them up today to take a look at them. They think they got a bad batch from Japan, for other customers are experiencing the same problems.

i have no interest whatsoever in emailing you for a report... you wanna post it? go right ahead...

and don't get all huffy... you and only you have caused your problems...

i will point out tho for your benefit you were bounced quickly from the other forum for whatever you did *(don't know.. don't care)...

you came here with typical newbie questions that we all answered quickly and as helpful as possible, then tell us wild stories about ultimate cotis and how you have been doing this a long time and gonna start fabricating razors and here is a list of the equipment i am buying blah blah...

i make razors... *(and people buy them)... i make them on a 100$ 8" bench grinder....... thats it...

as far as the threat/promise to "exit this forum forever".... do what you gotta do...

    good night...

I think you are doing something wrong with your stones if all of them have these issues. How do you store them? Can they easily hit each other? All the stones look like the corners hit them in places and small pieces fell out, chipped from the stones.

    good night...
My conundrum was that I was unable to post the report in its entirety, and I thought perhaps a VETERAN user of such a forum would know better than this NOVICE on how to upload it...though no need because it is in the hands of "casus4844".

My initial questions were geared to see how to forum treats a "newbie", which was quite admirable I must admit. Though if you show any confidence you are essentially excommunicated? What are the purposes of these forums?

BTW...I got all my equipment, kiln, grinder, etc...and I am too making razors. My point being is that my time will be better spent practicing the art of fabrication than arguing with the disgruntled people on here; most are very cool, and have been extremely helpful. Others, have been way too hateful...

So was your report done by a geologist or gemologist? You seemed rather unclear about that large distinction based on your free use of either. One is a scientist (often with an advanced degree) versed in rocks and minerals and their formation, whereas the other is a trade professional trained only to identify and appraise gems, which notably does not include most rocks. I'll note that a proper compositional analysis of a substance as complex as coticule rock would be destructive to the rock, and plenty of minerals glitter and shine besides garnets. In fact, quartz and mica both are in coticule rock and will reflect light. The crystals in a hone are much too small to be analysed by a gemologist's tools. Gemologists are interested in specific kinds of large crystals, not small ones found in a matrix.

Back to the high school bs....I am a molecular biochemical engineer, and I am cognitive in the disparity of the nomenclature used. He has a PhD in geology from the University of Arizona. I allowed him to take minute core samples from the sides of the stones, which were filled with epoxy. He utilized a gas chromatography mass spectrometer as well as an electron microscope. From various modulations he was able to verify the exact elemental make up of the sample, as well as complex molecular structure composition. He also was able to formulate the approximate percentage of garnets in the stone. From this information he not only derived the validity of the stone, but he was able to identify the exact vein it most likely came from based on other samples on record. Read the report...casass4844 has it!!

My intentions of my original post were not to offend, to be obtuse, or anything of the sort; I was very elated that I had found such an amazing specimen that I thought I would share it with the community. With the exception of maybe a couple people who realized my intentions, the vast majority of you put me on trial. And for what???? Are people that insecure that they need to pump themselves up with exerted bravado at the expense of an innocent person sharing something unique? Sometimes the human condition really disappoints me...

No high school BS here, just healthy skeptism, especially considering the inconsistency I mentioned. I'm happy to look at the report. My email address is--(edit) never mind, Gamma provided the report.
