    Default slight improved poormans strop

When I bought my first straight it was a Whipped dog sight unseen. with it I got two poorman strops. the one I've been using has served me well but I've always thought it needed a handle so I made one.

here's how I was holding it

As soon as I saw 550 cord I knew you'd be active duty or retired. I like the enginuity.

Impressive! That said, is that a bidet in the background? Isn't it a violation of B&B rules to use a straight razor next to a bidet? :-) :-)

That looks good. You have also managed to keep yours a lot more nick free than I could manage.

I just assumed it was a really big scuttle... Maybe dual purpose?
Razors don't shave people. People shave people!

There are three critical types of moments in life: Times when we should use opportunity to be enamoured with finer details, and times we should ignore the minutia.

Take a bit of tubing (like a cut piece of ballpoint pen) and put that inside the leather, and the 550 cord though that. That will help keep the strop flat and prevent cupping once the leather softens with the cord pulling on the sides.

550 cord and duct tape... you can rebuild a jet engine with those 2 things and a 6" crescent wrench...
a nice walk in the woods helps me relax and relieves tension....

the fact i'm dragging a shovel and a body should be irrelevant...
