Default OPINION: Custom brush handle shave choices

I'm been talking with B&B member Matt/deruitem about having a custom brush made. I've got a couple ideas for handle shapes, and I was wondering if y'all could help. I like small knot/short loft brushes better for the feel and control. I mainly bowl lather and use only creams or tubs, no hard soaps.

Matt has a 22 mm silvertip fan knot from TGN, but we are also talking about possibly using a 24mm fan. He's going to set the knot a little lower than normal, so it will look and behave more like a small Simpson Chubby or Simpson Classic, both of which I really like. Thanks so much for the help and opinions.

Here are the two handle shapes I have in mind. Which do you think is better B or E and why?

I never cared for a brush that has a large handle, so I have to go with E

For bowl lathering B, for face lathering E. I personally really like E, it reminds me of the Simpson's Eagle, should fit in better with the Chubster.

I pretty much like both, but I prefer a longer one. There's a reason it's YMMV. Opinions are like... you know. Everybody's got one.

    B. Aesthetics. Purely a question of personal taste, but I think the proportions are more balanced.

I prefer a short and stubby handle with a large knot. I would go with the E handle.

On B, the longer handle, I'm hoping for somewhere between 70-80mm. On E, the shorter handle, I'm hoping for about 50-55mm. I know the drawings aren't exactly to scale or proportion. I was mainly trying to indicate the shapes.

A short loft on a handle that is on the long side can look pretty odd, so I would go with the shorter handle.

E, similar to a Simpson Eagle.

+1 for E as I love eagle style handles.

    B

After having a number of brushes with 2" length, I got two longer ones shaped almost like B. Love them because:

    a. better grip
    b. keep my hands free of lather.

Since you've listed the measurements, I choose E.

Definitely E. I have brush that shape from Bob Farvour (my first custom), and it's the best handle I've got.

@50-55mm E would be a more comfortable grip and long enough to bowl lather when using a shorter loft.

Although both are very nice, I myself prefer "E".

"E" without question. I have smaller hands, so a shorter handle fits and feels better.

Okay, E seems to be the majority choice, and I like it too. Here are the E design variations from simple to slightly more complex. The more bold lines in the mid section would be cut as grooves into the handle. The fine lines indicate contour edges. Which one do you think? Please, no groans. After this, I'm done. Honest. Sorry, but this is my first custom. I'm proceeding with virgin-like caution.

I'll chime in and say that I like the symmetry on e4. But that's just personal preference. Really I think they all would look good. Congrats on the custom brush. I have one in the works right now too.
