  1. Default Shaving Cream - Cold Water

Living in Guatemala this summer in a place with no, repeat no, hot water. Can't even get lukewarm in the tap. Interesting discovery that the 2 creams I have with me (T&H West Indian Limes and AOS Unscented) and the soap (Classic Shaving wool fat Tea Tree) do almost as well in cold water, using just a small travel brush and my palm. I am probably using a touch more product to compensate, but the lather is +/- 95% as good as with hot water. I always figured that cold water was the kiss of death for lathering and/or shaving, but it is really not that much different.

I found the same thing on my limited excursion into cold water shaving.

I shave every other day, always with cold water and have no problems with lathering. Glad it's working out for you as well.

On hot summer days I will put ice water in my Dirty Bird Scuttle and lather up some Proraso. It is awesome. Usually use the Proraso AS but I have gone "All The Way" and followed up with Osage Rub instead. Frozen City Baby!

I shift from scuttle/warm water in winter to cold water and shave sticks in summer without any issues.

Yesterday I used T&H Grafton and bowl lathered up a mountain of later in cold water easily

My summer shaves are almost always with cold water. I like it! I don't think I've had a soap or cream that doesn't work with it, but my collection is markedly more low-brow than many I've seen here!

It's been hot enough here in Tennessee this summer that I've done a lot of cold-water shaving. I may soak my brush in warm water, but rinse my face with cold and lather up - I don't see much difference hot or cold. Little Osage Rub or Alcolado Glacial, and I'm cool and fresh for a while!

I cold water shave everyday, never had a lather problem.

I haven't found any difference between lathering with cold or hot water.

    Maybe cold water works better?
Have you ever tried to blow bubbles in warm milk compared to cold milk?
