So i finally got my own FP to play around with, its just a hero from the bay, payed 5 bucks or so shipped so i think it works great i dont get skipping or have to press hard or anything that would make me not want to write with it, and at that price i can carry it around work without fear of losing it or breaking it (other then the ink stains)

And so today i went from zero to hero, although after this review im sure i may have just reveresed the process on myself !

Hero's are nice, cheap, no frills but write like a champ. Don't have to break the bank to get a more than decent FP. Excellent penmanship also!

Hey James: Glad U liked the Hero. U can't beat that price. I'm a newbie to the FP world and although my fountain pens are not priced @ $500. I absolutely love my Platinum Plaisir and my LAMYs (shiny black and shiny lime green).

Thanks guys, penmanship is getting better, lol you should have seen it a month ago, but my printing skills are still champ !, I liked rockVipers lamy, but i think it had a lot to do with the italic nib, I may try a 1.9 lamy as Italics make your handwriting look much much better then what it is lol

Ha! Next thing you know you'll be wanting to add pipe smoking to go along with your FP AD!

The 1.5 is pretty damn big, I would be hesitant on the 1.9, unless you plan to pen a declaration of independence

I got to play with the 1.5 was curious about the 1.9, i would look for some review, and see if i could find some pictures against some other italics first but im a little bit away from getting it, its at the back of the line lol some other things are on the list ahead of that

    Welcome aboard!

I had fun trying to get of an ink stain on my finger last week using just soap'n'water, but then I made a test palm lather with a new brush and when I looked, low and behold, no more inkstain! Whee!

i took this guy to work with me today, man i had ink all over my hands when taking the cap off it would drip on the ground here and there, lol i think this is a stay in the cup at home kinda guy not a mover and a shaker for sure,.... so far the Bics are the workhorse of the workforce for the future time being, kind of a shame though my shirt pocket looked much nicer with this pen

Default And Then There Were Two

My Jinhao showed up, it is a much better looking and feeling pen as far as quality goes, it did cost 2 dollars more, but it writes much better too, it has a medium nib and flows much better, no nib creep yet like on the hero and no ink around my fingers as i write, this for a cheap pen makes me happy

no we are saving for that one, the one "good" pen will have that nib lol but its a wee bit down the road, the whole brown leaf thing put some things back a bit, but we are back on track, well as long as i can stay away from the coffee guys, figure ill just stop by your place and let you make the good coffee lol

heres a better look at what the body looks like, the Jinhao is far better then the Hero i have, used it all day at work without a drop spilling or my fingers getting covered like my hero did to me,... not sure if that rings true across the whole of the pen lines but in this case it certainly is, i like the jinhao very much, its a keeper

I'm willing to play with your Hero for a week or so if you'll take a coffee in trade. Pop by the house and I'll give you a vial of Noodler's Black Eel (and a blunt syringe if you want).
