BBs and white acrylic caulk is inexpensive for a ballast fill.

Use epoxy on the knot to handle connection for good sealing and a solid fit.

I stretch my filler epoxy by adding some ground cork to it. Be sure to dampen the cork with 91% rubbing alcohol and you can thin fresh mixed epoxy with the 91% to make it pourable. You can fill a handle and get the the heft you want and you save epoxy.

I did a restore of a cream/blue Eveready 100 handle not too long ago (posted in this forum) and I found the handle was hollow. I decided to use nickels to fill it up and, for 40 cents, I got a great heft to that handle. While it has a great feel in my hand, it's "top heavy" and tends to lean over in the drying stand. I used Devco 5 minute epoxy to set the nickels.

I wondered if having all of the weight at the bottom of the handle would be an issue if I used coins or similar weights in the 150W I am working on. I don't use a stand, so I am primarily concerned with how it will feel when I am using it.
