No, they are all nicely wrapped up and in great condition. Still have the Do Not Wipe informational slip in them. I will give them a spin in my current test rotation.

Nice brush. Can you provide the shop name and address so we can include it in the wiki?

That was still a great deal. Can you find a serial number on the shaft or the head of the single-ring? If it matches the case, it should be 1909 at the earliest.

They should give a mild shave from what I remember, I have used one of the blades they make for a local drug store.

damn I didnt think of that. cant tell you the name of it but it is right around the corner from San Marcos square, towards the Rialto.
it was somewhere in this neighborhood:

speaking of the Rialto there is another place actually on the bridge that sells shaving stuff. It's mostly brushes monogrammed with the stores name but they did have one straight razor from Solingen. that store is called Francos and they're toward the bottom of the steps. here is a picture of what they had in the window:

you know if you google "franco rialto venice" you just end up with a bunch of stuff about a famous high class whore/poet from the renaissance era who practiced her trade near the Rialto

Went by Walmart today and scored both the Salsa bowl and the thick glass Sundae bowl that various users have recommended for lathering bowls!

Oh, and a 1960 F4 Fatboy was delivered as well :)

Yeah, I may go find one of those to use until I can find a proper top for it.

I've seen them before, but they were pretty expensive, like $30 each. Yes just for the topper. But it was NOS. Considering I got the bottle for $1 it may be worth it.

Was in New Jersey visiting family and saw a antique place and stopped in. Saw a Gem Jr in excellent condition but wasn't in any mood to pay what they asked for. Went upstairs and found this instead for 5 bucks. On outside it has from top left and going in clockwise rotation. REG. U.S. - PAT. OFF. -- The stamped Gillette logo --- and Made in U.S.A. On the inside I believe it says PAT NOS ON PACKAGE. The guy said he picked it up with some old WWII patches and medals. I could not find any info on it, but for 5 dollars it sure shaves nicely. If you can't tell from photos, it is a matte black finish all over. It has some wear on the comb area but not a lot.

    My 'Russian doll' acquisition!!

A white box, within which is a red box:

Within the red box, is a leather case (with gold plated sides):

Open it up and what do we see?

Why it's a mint Aristocrat Deluxe! Shame there's no blade holder, but I would imagine the red Gillette box isn't exactly common.

On another note, imagine receiving this as a present back in the fifties. Absolutely stunning:

DE shaving, and lovin' it, since May 2011.
