Default 9/8 W.GREAVES & SONS Masonic etched chopper

Been lusting after one of the BIG Masonic razors for a while now. Saw this on ebay and gave it my best shot. After getting outbid on the last several, I got tall enough to win this one and spent ALL of my lunch money in the process. :( I'm happy with it as it matches my ring. :)

I'll get her honed up this weekend. It won't take much it appears. Probably fill the worm bites in the scales and run 'er as is.

Wow that is in pretty exceptional shape compared to a lot of the ones you normally see.

    Congratulations.

That's an extremely cool razor. What's the story on the badge?

    Thanks Ray.

The badge is on a sash that is part of the regalia worn "back in the day" by Masonic Knights Templar. It was my grandfather's.

I've been looking for a nice Masonic blade for pretty good while and have been shot out of the saddle on EVERY one I've bid on except this one. Keep lookin' is all I can say and one of these days you too will find that razor of your dreams.

LOTS of nice rings on ebay too. ;) I used to buy 'em pretty regular back when I was single and had lots of disposable income and give 'em to the newly raised Master Masons in my blue lodge. Can't afford to that any more. Gold has gone WAY up and the job I had back then went away and now I've got a family to take care of.

    Hang in there. ;)

Outstanding. The badge and the razor definitely look great side by side...
