    Default Floris

I mentioned in the Shopping and deals forum that I just noticed Floris in London has a half-price summer sale on, and I ordered a bottle of No. 89 EdT for £34.50 rather than the usual £69.

And I just wondered what people here think of Floris fragrances, and what your favourites are? (Not that I'm wondering about getting a second bottle, or anything )

I like them very much. No 89 smells good to me but I am middle aged. Most hipsters would steer clear of it. Unfortunately, they stopped producing my favorites Sandalwood and Vetiver.

I'm middle aged too - and really not too fond of hipster fragrances!

Hard to go wrong with No 89. Good classic man everyday frag.

Kinda strong for my tastes though, especially the other fragrances.

The Santal ASB and AS are two of my favorites.

Seems like great prices however...it said it was 45 pounds to ship to Wisconsin. I think ill pass. Assuming im seeing this right? Unless it was 45 pounds total but there is no where telling me the total. Not the greatest online shopping system they got.

I love the No.89 and my favourite. Personally I feel the summer sale is great too. The reason is simply because the packaging has been changed in recent months, and the sale is to sell off the older style. That said, I prefer the older packaging.

    From their website:

    What are the delivery charges?

USA and Canada: £25. Delivery should be made
within 5-10 working days. Please note there is an additional £20 surcharge on
orders with product which contain alcohol.

No. 89 is probably the most popular of the Floris line. It has a putative James Bond connection. I am not so fond of it as many are, but I really like the Special No. 127, which is similar without the rose. Alas, the Sandalwood and Vetiver, for sure, especially the former, which I am wearing today. Mahon is a nice leather. I like the Elite, which seems like a tobacco to me, and am surprised that it does not get more love.

Also, Be careful as to where the cologne is being shipped from (in general) and how long it may take to get to you. I ordered some cologne via Amazon and did not expedite the shipping. With the big heat wave hitting much of the country (USA) when I received my shipment it was rather warm and I think it effected the scent.

    Just a general heads-up.

I want to like No. 89 and perhaps I should try it again. When I last owned a bottle, it smelled like a morgue filled with fresh flowers.

I like Santal the best and Elite as well. Very traditional and sophisticated scents in general. Lots of citrus and wood notes.

I got the advertizing flyer with order form too, but they don't ship 100 ml bottles over here so I'll regretfully have to pass.

    Gentlemen,

I have been using their Vetiver for many, many years. At least 30.
I think Floris is the best British EDT, cologne out there. They are natural. The vetiver gives me 6 hours at least.
I feel all the others have gone chemical for their scents now.
I also used Penhalgion, but overrated IMO>
Good marketing is what sells them.
    Floris is Britains secret.
    Nice day my friend
