I face lather with all of my brushes and enjoy them all for a variety of different reasons. Lately I have really enjoyed my Da vinci brushes as well as my Kent BK8 and T&H classic style 1 medium. My D01 Shavemacs are great as well.

I'm far from a veteran either, but so far my 2 favorite brushes for face lathering are:

    Simpsons Duke 3 in 2-Band
    Simpsons Chubby 2 in 2-Band

I have a Thater, a Heritage Rooney Stubby 2XL and a Mühle Silvertip Fibres 25 mm on its way to me, so that might change

I am thinking of getting a new whipped dog brush in either 20 or 22mm but I am wondering what would be a good loft to have for face lathering?
I currently have a 24mm at 50 and it is working good just wanna try something new.

i put my bowl on top of an incense burner with water in it and a tea light candle under it. keeps the lather warm in the winter.

Thanks - really looking forward to testing them ASAP

Also have a dousin of Portugese and Spanish shaving creams on order from Portugal - 5 Musgo reals, 2 La Toyas, Top Secret, Veleiro, O Melhor, Lavanda old, Lavanda new formula, Brut Brazil, Brut Brazil Sensitive - will face lather with them all in a 12 pass shave, once I get them (just kidding, but really want to test all these shave creams)

    Personally, I like a 20mm at around 45mm.

I am in! I started out bowl lathering, but have now switched over to exclusively face lathering. I get a better lather and better shave, not to mention it saves some time for me as well.

Hi. I've been face lathering exclusively now for months--I like it much better than using my scuttle, which I now just use to soak my brush. I'd definitely like to nominate myself for membership in this fine club.

Anyway, I have a question--about face lathering with creams. If it's in a tube, I just put an almond size snurdle on my wet brush and start face lathering or i spread some on my face with fingers and start face lathering with the brush. But I just got some Trumper's coconut cream in a tub. How's the best way to apply that? Dip the damp brush into the tub, picking up some on the tips, then face lather?
    Thanks,
    Bob

Count me in! Been face lathering since Day One--it always seemed like the easiest way to do it. My previous experience was with brushless creams and the Automatic Razor-Burn Generator (M3 cart). Being used to applying the cream directly to my face, building a lather there was a no-brainer!

i guess i will apply for membership into the club. i have been face-lathering for ten months after starting out using a scuttle/bowl the first month. i will never go back!
Claus, you should try a good soap such as Mike's Natural Soaps, Mystic Water, MdC or Jabonman as you are in Europe and you can get it as it comes from Spain. These soaps i mention will not dry your face as they act similar to moisturizers when you are done shaving. i prefer my Semogue 2011 LEs for face-lathering, but am really enjoying the Synthetic brushes as they produce SO much lather with very, very little soap.
Another great club to be part of. Enjoy your shaves, gents.
    Laughter, love and shaving!

You can use some kind of a scoop and smear it on the brush...I just dip it right in the cream.

For a cream in the tub, I just get a little on the tip of my finger and smear it on my cheeks, chin, and neck. It works well for me.

I am a 100% face and head latherer. I almost always use soap. I might use a cream twice a year. Count me in the club!
