I'm in! Been face lathering for over a year and never got into bowl lathering. Plus it's one less thing to clean up afterwards.

Wait, there is another way?
I'm still a newb but I've only facelathered up to now and I don't see myself trying anything else. A bowl just seems to much hassle.

Count me in. Face lathering always gives me the best results.
TOFLAC-U, AOM, LEMS/ Stay back! I have a Merkur, and I know how to use it!
I want in. I am a face latherer and wouldn't have it any other way.

You guys need a mechanic in this squad right!? Count me in! The only thing bowls are good for is soaking the brush![]()

I am trying to like it but my main problem is:
I get a nice lather for the first pass then rinse and apply the lather for second one but it looks much thinner.
Any ideas how to fix this problem? I have tried a few different soaps with the same result.
Hey ridnovir, I had this same issue at first as well! Aside from the perennial more product which would no doubt be worth your consideration, I've found that patting my face nearly dry with a towel after rinsing and before the next face lathering really does the trick!
I think the rinsing was leaving too much residual lather, which in turn thinned the lather and used up the rest of the product.
Best of luck!

Had the same problem.
Solution for me:
I massage a bit of shaving cream into my beard area before each pass - and then only have to dip my brush for the first pass
Since I own 48 shaving creams currently, I already need to use MORE PRODUCT, so this is a nice solution for me and my shaving cream den![]()
Lately I have been really digging my Simpsons Beaufort B4 in pure as a face lathering brush. It has a lot of stitch (and scratch) but there is something about it that is very appealing besides the fact that for a moderate knot (20mm) long handled (50mm loft, 55mm handle) brush it is one heck of a lather monster when used with sticks or triple milled soap

Out of sheer laziness, I have been face lathering for a few months now. My recent brush purchases have reflected this...I have a Chubby 3 two band on the way.
I love face lathering because I generally like a very thick lather and it seems easier to build a thick lather on the face than it does on the inside of the bowl. When it starts to get cold outside, I may have to break out the scuttle a few times, though. So I suppose that makes me a fair weather face latherer.

Count me in. I face-lather soaps and creams, but am mainly a soap guy. I definitely prefer creating the lather on my face than in a bowl, as the extra time spent creating the lather helps soften up my beard and prep it for the shave.

Found out this morning that the Chubby1 in super is made for this.
