Two-pass almost BBS

So I was looking @ blade gaps as I await the arrival of my Tech(thanks to KCHighLife), and notice that it's the same as a 1 on a Gillette adjustable. My beloved 40's SS is about 2.5.

I get the brilliant idea of loading a Personna blue into my Fatboy set to 2 and lathering up with Proraso. Result is a very smooth and easy almost BBS with two passes.

My new go to--at least until the Tech gets here...

With that set up it sounds like you won't need anything else to get that elusive BBS.

I'd keep working on my technique with what you've got until BBS shows itself on a regular basis.
