Aftershave scents?

I'm looking for a new aftershave, alcohol based, but wondered if anyone has heard of local places where you could smell the aftershaves before purchasing. Similar to tester bottles for colognes, in the mall. Some aftershaves I have seen on this forum I haven't seen in cologne form.

The only one I know in person that has samplers is Merz Apothercary in Chicago. If you don't mind paying a few bucks, Garry's Sample Shop carries a nice selection of .25 oz samples of aftershave.

I just open up the boxes at the store and give a sniff; no one has ever reprimanded me for it. Of course, we're talking drug store scents.

If there's a store near where you live, they should be more than willing to accommodate. If you don't happen to live close enough, check out Garry's sample shop. The service is great and it's a great way to test not only scent, but also performance.
