When I got mine on Prime, the total price was 32 and change (probably the same exact price, just without 2 day shipping). I read on here somewhere that instead of going through Amazon they are now making the brushes to order and shipping them directly from their manufacturing facility.

Unless, of course, you're not in CONUS...

Hey, I have 3 of those 4 brushes! Good job; I was wondering what the height difference was. The H. I. S. is really big. It's like an Omega Pro (but softer, of course).

Thanks for the pic, GDCarrington. That brush really seems best for bowl lathering when you show its size next to other brushes. I can't fathom trying to face lather with that.
Please don't tempt me to buy anymore.

Is the face feel of these brushes that big? I know its a very very tall brush, but the top of the knot looks to be the same size as your 23mm brushes. Does it feel any bigger on the face? or is it only bigger in the hand?

How much would it cost to ship to CA from the US? It would cost $32.40 shipped to me in GA. I would be willing to order one for you and then ship it back to you if it would put things in your price range. Thinking about picking one up myself.

Holy smokes that thing is big! I ordered one from Amazon on the 9th and it hasn't shipped yet. I probably won't get my hands on it until after I get home from vacation at the end of the month.

My first impressions are that the brush is big and the tips are very fine, finer than boar or badger but very soft- makeup brush soft. It is a good brush, it could use a little more backbone for soaps and not nearly as luxurious as the finer badger or boar brushes but still a very good useable everyday brush.

I find it appropriate that you said 'makeup brush soft,' given that it was made by a makeup brush company :D I never really thought about putting the two together.

However, as far as soaps go, I've never had a problem with mine. I know YMMV and all that, but since it is synthetic its load times are less and thus creating a lather out of soap, at least for me, has never really been an issue. I'm still trying to learn its water retention rate, though. Its very finicky to me, but most of the time I opt to start out with a really dry brush then just add water.

It is slightly larger at the peak of the brush than the 23 mm Muhle. It is more in line with my 25 mm Muhle synthetic.

I think the main issue with many people who have stayed away has been the height of the handle since many people use 28 and 30 mm Badger hair brushes which would have anywhere from one and one half to two times the area at the peak than the H.I.S. brush.

My 22 mm Silvertip when it bloomed out has almost the same amount of area at the peak as the H.I.S.

With a shorter handle, many would jump off the fence and buy one in my opinion.

Thanks! I have one inbound for this week, but your observations confirm what I had thought :)

For those questioning the size for face lathering, I use it soley for face lathering...It's a monster and I like it! The rest of my brushes cower in its shadow.

I ordered the HIS last week. For comparison's sake, I was going to order the Muhle w/23 mm knot but decided to order the Jagger version instead, which doesn't seem to be available in the US yet. Same fiber, same knot, lower price. $51 including shipping.

Yes, it feels very tall. The bristles are firm, except at the very tips, which are soft. It reminds me of the Omega Pro, a very tall brush.

I just used mine for the first time (w/QCS) and I think it's a terrific brush, especially for $32 including shipping. I agree with Jeff; it's "make-up brush soft" but it also has enough backbone to use with soap. The combination of a long handle and high loft made it seem that my hand was too far away from my face while I lathered. Visually, it's attractive except the clear handle exposes the blotchy ring of adhesive holding the brush to the handle. It's about the same size as my size 3 Rooney Heritage 3, so it's tied for the biggest brush in my collection.

I can't think of a better brush to recommend to a newbie on a limited budget.

I just checked Amazon and if you order three brushes the shipping to Canada seems to be free. I'm in for one, if you want to find a third person and we can split it between us, and then just ship domestically (probably around $5 per brush). Let me know if you want to go for it.

Is anyone using a brush holder for their H.I.S. brush? If so, which one are you using?

I am using an acrylic holder that is large enough to clear the entire brush.
