Default Lets see your travel cases

Im honestly thinking about buying a case. Something that will hold my brush and razor at the least with elastic bands, but more straps will be nicer. Does anyone know where I can buy the cheapest leather travel case. Something that will house my razor, brush, and some blades?? I saw stuff made by Dovo but they are all $200+ because they come with a futur and a silvertip brush.

I have this, and use it when I'm traveling fairly light, it's not as large as most, but is perfect if you're only taking your shaving supplies and basic stuff. My larger one is used more often, as I like to take full sized soap, deodorant, etc. when I can. Not really any straps and stuff though, so it may not be what you mean.

Not really a "travel case" but fits easily in my dopp kit. The tube is from a blossoming tea and the tin is a sucrets tin.

Here is mine, Duke 2 in a Toothpick holder, Soap stick in a pill bottle, and aftershave in a 5-Hour Energy bottle.

If I am packing a DE, I use a small cigar box.

Do a search for dopp kits on any search engine or big store website. You'll find everything from $5 - $5000 and everything that could go into one (razor holders, brush holders, etc, etc).
There are too many options and places that sell to list any specific place.

My Dopp Kit is a Chaps one that has a hidden flat compartment on the bottom for toothbrushes and other essentials. I got it for $4 with the original price tag of $59.95 at a Thrift store.
I also have a Simpsons Case with the travel tube and pack a Progress (for variety) in a Yuma razor case.

Have a look on ebay (even ebay uk) for the words: vintage mens toiletry. Also try replacing the word "vintage" for old and the word "toiletry" for shaving. Doing that will maximize your search results and also help you grab a true bargain!

Heres what I got for only £1.20. I'm still waiting for it to arrive and due to a lack of photos and of a description on the listing, it's going to be a surprise to see what is in the smaller case!

This is my travel rig. I've owned my ostrich dopp kit forever, the contents are all shaving in vintage containers. They are: Proraso, Tabac, and AOS creams, TGN knotted restore travel brush, plastic sprayer with Floid Vig, bakelite container with extra scent, white case with alum block, Aristocrat case with '46 Aristocrat in Rodium, blade holder, Astra SP's.

IIRC my Col Littleton kit was $200+ and it didn't come with a Futur and silvertip.

As stated above, search around for dopp kits (or shave kits). There are countless options in leather for far less than $200.

There are some interesting materials choices out there. I think Freitag has a dopp kit made out of the stuff they use for their other products.

I carry my shaving gear in a small zippered bag I bought at Home Depot. This bag fits into my regular toiletry bag, thus my shaving equipment is kept all together.

Below you will see the contents and how they are packed. Things noted in square brackets are possible substitutes:

    • Rooney 1-1 Silvertip brush in drilled Rx bottle. [Simpson Wee Scott in smaller Rx bottle]
    • Cella Soap in tub. [Arko & Palmolive shave sticks in their own drilled Rx bottles]
    • Muhle 89 razor packed in a small mint tin.
    • Brass Gillette razor blade holder that belonged to my father.
    • Feather blades
    • Self-compounded after shave.

    I welcome your comments.
