Dumb question: Is there any functionality with Friend Request?

I have gotten a number of them, have not figured out how to send one yet. What does it do? Is there any functionality associated with it? Or is it just a way to tell someone you like they way they post?

I think it's just sending a friendly hello. Unless you are unaware of fight club, if so there is no fight club.

The only functionality that I see to having one is being able to see who is online at a glance by looking at your friends list.

I use it as a way to keep track of which B&B members I've met in real life (or on Twitter).

Thanks, Luc! I never could figure out how to do that, I kept looking for a 'send friend request' link in my friends area thinking it was like a PM. Your screen capture cleared that up!
