I just received the gold joris with the thuja wood razor. It's beautiful. I have a joris palladium razor. My new joris came with the wooden box but no joris stamp on the top of the box. Although its a minor issue, did Joris change this recently?

May have. Some say theirs came with the name Plisson on it.

I have 2 stories to tell since I purchased my Fatips.

Fatip Grande chrome edition:
I've used a lot of elbow grease to polish/finish the head and the handle. I customized the handle with lead, tungsten and elbow grease.
Result:
A BEAUTIFUL and smooth Heavy Duty razor that gives some fantastic shaves !

Fatip Piccolo (nickel):
Elbow grease used to polish/finish the head and the handle.
Result:
A BEAUTIFUL, smooth and fantastic allround OC !

Overall result:
My fat handle Gillette Tech now have 2 serious rivals.

Great results, I think that the Tech has to give in to the FaTips.

The newest Joris/Plissons do not display the name Joris anywhere on the packaging. The box is much different too. This is why I refer to the razors as Plisson or Joris/Plisson. The razors I have received that came in the new box were purchased directly from Plisson.

This morning I shaved with my new/used Joris gold/horn razor for the first time. This is a really stunning razor - even prettier in person than in the pic. I got a great shave with a Feather blade, but I needed 3.5 passes to get a bbs shave. With my Palladium spiral, it only takes 2.5 passes. My other new Joris, the Palladium/Walnut also takes 3.5 passes. Must have something to do with the weight.

The other big news (well, for me, anyway) was that my new Thater 4292/6 brush arrived today. The brush nominally measures 28mm x 54mm x 112mm OAH, but the knot is actually 30mm. Unlike most Thaters, it's a fan, not a bulb. This may turn out to be my favorite brush of all.

Mine shipped in the lower box in the pictures, but without the Joris burned into the lid. I would have preferred the upper box. I just got mine last week.

Phil sent me my Joris spiral this afternoon replacing my defective one. This one has Joris burned into the lid top and aligns the blade perfectly. Would one suspect we are having problems with the new batch of Plissons? The one I sent back was Plisson and definitely defective. Has anyone had problems with Joris labeled razors? I will shave with this baby in am.

I suspect Phil sent mine today, even though my razor did not get sent out to him until today! I got the UPS automated e-mail from him. Outstanding customer service that will keep me a bullgoose customer for the long haul. I love supporting good customer service, and the small businesses, so having someone like Phil in our world is a real treat, and only makes me happier to do business with him.

So you were the one who got my razor......I waited to long and missed this one and have the matching 24 k gold Joris badger brush. Congrats on a beautiful aaddition to your den. I am still looking for my first Joris razor and fortunately, they come available periodically here.
