I think the ability of a blade to misalign is part and parcel of the any razor that is designed to hold the blade via three posts, like the Old Type, the FaTip, and the Joris. There is inherently a bit of play in the blade with the three-prong design.
That's one of the reasons Gillette went on to design the NEW; they put a ridge on the baseplate so the blade would be held all along its length rather than just on those three posts.
People using the FaTip, the Joris, or the Old Type (or any razor that has a three-prong design) have to be careful that the blade lines up properly. You have to line it up every time you load a new blade.
If you send it back to Phil, he'll probably send you another one, but it will still be prone to the same thing.
Randall, I had that problem with the FATIP not the Joris, thats why I recommend to send it back before its too late so he can have another razor to see if its a alignment issue. I think that it was just a bad apple. My Joris has perfect alignment all time with out no effort .
