The FaTip is more aggressive than the Merkur, so for a comfortable, medium-aggressive shave, I'd recommend the Merkur. Neither is as aggressive as the R41. You might also want to consider the 39C if you prefer a longer handle. You really can't go wrong with either the Merkur or the FaTip.

I considered the R41, but after reading too many reviews where they only had 3 nicks, 4 weepers, but it was a very good shave I decided it wasn't for me.
i rthink that the Fatip may be more aggressive but less irritation, i use the slant and felt irritation on my 3rd pass.

when everyone told me they got the nickel i was a little worried, but the chrome matches up great to that razor, enough that to anyone who didnt know better (but really who wouldnt know better here) it looks like it came with it

I posted my review in the BOTOC but I will leave some pics of the FaTip Piccolo solo and with the UFO Handle and the shave of the day (night) pic. All I gotta say is that I love me some FaTip.Click image for larger version.

Very nice, Warhawk! I've noticed that the heads of the FaTips are pretty versatile and look great with these custom handles.

Default First Impression: Sweet music to my ears!

I loaded a Black Gillette 7 O'Clock and used a two-band M&F brush (it's on Summer Loan from one of our awesome members) with RRXXX and went to work with the Grande. First pass sounded great! Kind of like miniscule bubble wrap bubbles poppin.' Very satisfying feedback. This thing must be wielded with care but it's not as intimidating as the R41. Balance is just right and the weight is neither too light or heavy. I had no issues with grip. It was a very wonderful shave.
On an OC aggressive spectrum (a Merkur 12C being lightly aggressive, a long-comb NEW being medium aggressive, and an R41 being on the high spectrum of OC aggression) the FaTip is a medium-high type of aggressiveness. It's a very effective tool and it lives up to all the hype.

Hey Krona Kruiser: Great review. I'm glad that U had great results. I did not expect to get a great face shave with the FaTip. I'm so glad that it lived up to the hype.

Which model UFO handle is that one Warhawk? It looks like the Godzilla, but I thought they were only prototypes and not for sale yet.

I acquired a Fatip from BullGoose as an experiment for a Durham handle. It's a razor with a fairly crude fit and finish but so's the Durham so it's a match. Crude or not, Fatips have a bigger than normal head and fits the Durham handle to a "T". Weight, balance and performance are about perfect. The finishes match. I think my Durham handle has finally found the head it's been waiting for.

Godzilla is for sale I ordered a Goliath same as godzilla but with deeper knurling. Asked Warhawk what this was before he said its a Torpedo?
