I just got my piccolo FaTip back a few hours ago. I loaned it out to one of my son's friends.
I missed it a lot. Tomorrow morning Im going to use it with the stock piccolo handle. I can hardly wait!

By the way, the guy I loaned it to is now a convert. He's ordering one from BullGoose.

I just used my Fatip Grande nickel-plated head with the new Weber Classic handle for the first time. Awesome combination! That is one hefty handle -- noticeably heavier than the original, matte-finish Classic, and polished to a shine, like the Weber Bulldog -- but it's nicely balanced and feels sure in the hand, thanks to the deep, tactile knurling. Mowed down two days' growth in a flash. I'm taking it with me on a two-week vacation. When I'm not shaving with it, I'm gonna use it to do bicep curls!

I paired the FaTip/PMJ with a Lord Platinum this morning and got an unbelievably incredible shave! I had used this blade with the EJ89 with soo soo results...but witht he FaTip it was incredible. To the point I started a thread asking about others use of the Lord. FaTip never ceases to amaze me...each time I use it and my R41, I'm that much closer to going OC exclusive! (only use my EJ89 on my head nowadays and that's more rare by the week...)

Seriously though, I've been off work for 10 straight days, and now that I'm back at it I decided to try a milder blade in the picollo as I shave daily for work. A Wal Mart Wilkie (I still have about 20 of these from my early DE buying hinge). And guess what? This razor performs great with it!
No,I have 3 FaTips, the 2 nickel versions Grande and Piccolo I'm keeping stock handle, the chrome FaTip Grande I put on the UFO Godzilla.

I used the stock handle on my piccolo FaTip this morning. It's not a bad handle. I like the weight.

It would be great if it were maybe 4 or 5 mm longer and about 3 or 4 mm wider. Even as is, though, it works just fine.

I like my Fatip Grande so much and was so disapointed about, that the head don't fit my Bulldog handle, that I did some elbow grease and got the beatiful original Fatip handle a bit more heavy. Now I've this beauty in a super edition at 111½ grams.

I think it would be easy enough today. Fill up the one end with epoxy, and then add weight..iron shavings, small ball bearings or bb's.....I personally like the look and feel of my Grande, but the extra weight would be nice.

I did it very alike as what I did with my fat handled Tech.
I used tungsten and lead. I could use tungsten alone, but I think it'll be unnecessarily expensive. The tungsten and the lead is a kind of what fisherman use for the lines. I also needed a short screw. The lead is toxic, so I used tungsten in both ends to encapsulate it.
I put the screw in the bottom of the handle and stampted some tungsten with the reverse of a 4 mm HSS drill for metal (carefull with the threads!). Then I cut the lead in small pieces that could fit in to the top hole and stamped them with the metal drill and a little hammer. I finished the job with some tungsten and unscrewed the screw from the bottom of the handle.
The handle weights now 72½ grams and it feels great !

I just bought Joris/Plisson #2. It's Palladium and Canadian walnut. I was leery about buying a wood-handled Joris/Plisson because I like heavier razors, but this one is a bit heftier than their all-wood handles..

Alex: I bought it used, so it's not here yet. I will update this thread on the shave quality and also the shave quality vs. my much heavier Palladium Spiral. Here's my dilemma: If this comes in an old "Joris" box, then I am going to have to call it a Joris rather than a Plisson or a J/P - not sure I am prepared emotionally to do so.
