I,ve got the canadian walnut handled Joris (excuse me Bob Plisson lol). Did not realise but its apparantly one of the lighter handles they have. I emailed Plisson and it is not possible to just buy a handle. I unscrewed mine and looked in the handle cand get anything big like bb's in it to add weight but it looks like theres a small gap in there what would be the best to try to put in there to add some weight ie sand or something powderey?

When I was in boy scouts, my dad and I used to melt down fishing weights/lead to put in our soap box cars...would something like that work? I recall it was a bit messy but if you could figure a way to control it, it may be worth a try.

Great Idea i,ve made fishing weights before im a little worried the heat might warp the handle/plating but it gave me an idea to mayby try JB weld.

Anybody know about the respective weights of the different Joris/Plisson handles? I'm particularly fond of the horn handle; is it lighter than the others?

The wood and horn razors (including heads) run 55 - 60 grams. The all-brass/Palladium ones rare 105 grams.

I'll believe you both because it suits me just fine. I wanted to change the handle from the start because I like when the handles are smooth and with no ornaments, grooves... Like the Joris I posted pictures of here. Do you maybe know who makes custom handles? Few days ago I tried to contact that Spanish handle maker via milogciachez but with no luck.

Do you mean the Fatip? Joris cost around $160 and are palladium plated. Fatips are $35 but your looking at approx. $70-90 for replate, hard to justify imo

They probably aren't solid brass like the Plissons, but I highly doubt they are plastic.

Sorry for a second i was thinking that the palladium was the fatip. So the Joris Palladium can it be replated after a few years? is palladium the same as rhodium ?

No, the Fatip is not plastic, they are brass made...the Merkurs, Mules and Ed Jaggers are a Zamac metal which is somewhat cheaper and brittle.
