    Default XXX Scent suggestions

Im fairly new to the WS game. Ive been using Proraso for a few months and decided to order something else. I chose Razorock XXX. It lathers up great! Nice slick, close shaves also. My inquiry is, does razorock make any cropes which may appeal to one whose age is less than 65? (Haha. no offense, Ill be there soon enough. Im already on the wrong side of 30 by a few) It smells like the soap from those old soap despensers in public washrooms. The ones that you had to crank to produce that darn-awful powdered soap. From what Ive read, the XXX is a very popular fragrence, but just not for me. It seems that when I read a scent description, rarely does it match with what i imagine in my mind. Can anyone reccomend a more cologne-ish razorock scent? Or maybe a nice sweet smelling one?

If you want a nice, sweet-smelling one, I would recommend Boston Tea Party in the Artisan line of soaps.

I think the scent of XXX rocks. I'd recommend Classic (for an almond scent), Caprician Lemon (the best RR in my book), or Fresco as well.

Yeah, I just wasnt expecting the xxx to be so "soapy" smelling (for me it is, anyways). And at 6-10 bucks a tub, Im willing to try other scents by them.

I have more RazoRock products in my den than any other shaving soap/cream. I'm a huge fan of the product.

Try the Cacao- it's a nice almond/maraschino scent. Works just as well as the XXX, IMO.

If it's just the scent you don't like, you should definitely try other stuff by them. I'd highly recommend anything in the Artisan line.

Any difference between the artisan and 'regular' line of product? Or is it refered to as artisan just for marketing purposes?

The Regular line is softer than the Artisan line. The Artisan line is a softer soap instead of a cream.

They are different products, so no, they don't perform the same.

I just got my first two tubs of their stuff in the other day...my other software is feeling neglected at the moment.

I think that most people find that the Artisan series is at the top of RazoRock's creams/soaps in performance (YMMV). I haven't personally tried the XXX, but I've heard some say that performs closer to the Artisan line than the others.

You can't really go wrong with any of them though.

Fantastic, guys! I think this forum is brilliant for noobs, not unlike myself. About to order a couple of different scents and see how that goes. Thanks for the advice!

XXX is my favorite of any RazoRock Product. It was one of the first wet shaving products that I used and I loved it. The performance is top notch and I actually enjoy the scent.

You think Razorock XXX smells old? I'm going to have to disagree. I'm not sure how to describe it but I find that I really like the smell and I'm no where near 65. Musgo Real...now there's an older smell for sure.
Please don't tempt me to buy anymore.
