Default How many soaps do you have, and how long have you been wetshaving?

I have a severe case of SSAD. I've been wetshaving for 3 months, and already own 8 soaps. I have no buyer's remorse whatsoever. So how many soaps do you have, and how long have you been doing this? In that number include all types of soaps. (triple milled, soft, melt and pour etc)

I'm an addict, too. Over 40 different soaps, and I've been doing this since late 2009. I have all the new razorock's on the way, too.

Since march of 2009, and I have three soaps in rotation, and two that I haven't used yet.

26 soaps in 6 months. I'm considering buying 3 more tonight.

I also have 16 creams. And samples of creams & soaps.

When I joined B&B I too went "overboard" with soaps and creams. Now since the beginning of the year I am down to 4 shave sticks which I use only when I travel, 10 soaps (two of which remain unopened), and 4 creams.

I have been using a DE for more than 50 years.

A bit over a year wet shaving now, and I have about 8 soaps/creams.

I have tried several dozen, traded them, sold them, PIF'd them, and I've come to the conclusion I've found very high quality stuff I like, so I decided to quit experimenting. I hope that sticks. A handful of warm weather scents, a handful of cool weather scents, and a handful I can use anytime, and I'm done.

I may try a couple more over time, but I'm really ramping down, and I hate having too much around.

~7 years and probabaly somewhere around 50+ soaps and 20+ creams. I would say that I have used 75% of the products in my den with the rest put away for a rainy day. My seasonal rotation keeps maybe 10 soaps and 6 creams out at a time.

I couldn't wait. I just bought Calani Havana, Calani Oriental Plum, and Haslinger Honig, so I guess I'll be at 29 soon.

    Default My Life in Soaps...

Back in March, a year after giving up carts and goo, I had the following on hand:
Williams - Used up since March
VDH Select (2) - Used 1 since March with the other seeing use on weekends only
Mama Bear Aged Spice - 1/2 used since March
    VDH Deluxe Unscented
    Mama Bear Brute
    Colonel Conk Lime
    Colonel Conk Bay Rum
    Parker Sandalwood

I have at least tried all of these, although I got on the "use up the products" bandwagon when I first signed up here. That was before I found out what reall SSAD was.

None of the creams or sticks have really caught my attention. Maybe I'll try Arko one of these days, but I need to use the other stuff first. Apparently once you go Arko you can never go back...

I can see myself having 20 soaps by the end of this year. That's my favorite part of wetshaving. Not the aftershaves, the razors, or even the creams. For me, it's all about the soaps.

I have 12, and just got started buying three months ago. I've been shaving with a DE for years, but it was recently that I got fed up paying $15CAN for 5 Wilkerson blades (at the local drugstore). So I went online to see if I could find a better, cheaper source for my blades. That's when I found Italian Barber and Badger and Blade—the rest is history.

Oh I should add that I've been at this for about 2 months and have tried 6 different kinds of soaps already.

Of the 7 soaps I currently own, 2 are glycerin, and the rest are tallow. Since starting in 10/2011, I've managed to use up 3 glycerin soaps.

Two and half years wet shaving, and about twenty-five soaps. That's just a guesstimate, could be more.
